I cheer differently during goals in the regular season than I do when they score in playoffs
the playoff cheer came out on that Vesey winner last night

Am I crazy or in that NHL recap video did they mute the whistle sound on the jack Hughes goal? |

We can put a satellite into space that can read the time off your watch but we cant get a damn 4K HD camera onto the ice so that we dont have to deal with these BS grainy video replays. They can easily drill a couple holes into the cross bar and put one of those nano HD security cameras in the pipe. |

really who is to say that if the whistle doesn't go off Shesterkin doesn't reach behind him and swipe it before it goes in |

Laviolette said they got the call right. The puck wasn’t frozen at all regardless of the whistle the puck is “still moving” into the net. I hate to say it but they got the call right. Who gives a fk we won the game. I don’t think think this is any conspiracy against the Rangers. Although, I do think that happens just not here.. the Cuylle goal we got robbed and that Ducks goal should’ve counted. The NHL definitely need to revamp Toronto tho, something is amiss in that room
This team handles adversity very well so this makes last nights game that much sweeter. This team won’t be denied this year. What a start to the season.

I 100% agree with this. They need something like they have in soccer where they use some sort of technology where it shows that the ball completely went over the goal line. I don’t see why they can’t with the puck. The way they have been calling games this season I just know if and when the playoffs comes there is going to be a call that will just be what the ref wants to interpret the rule. It’s totally unacceptable. I try not to get worked up about the officiating but the calls have just been so inconsistent game to game. Idgaf if I don’t agree with the call just be consistent. It shouldn’t be that difficult. |

Im also still not understanding how that high hit on Lindgren wasnt called a penalty...
Unlike Nosek, Lindgren's head was up, the McLeod clearly came up with his shoulder and put it in Lindgren's face. |

I don’t think so. The puck is rolling from the time it hits him and goes in. He never had it frozen.
What amazes me is Jack Hughes is like Harry Potter with his wand/stick, fking thing is magic. It’s terrifying |

That was the best game the 4th line played all year by a mile. Pitlick is growing on me, he’s pretty fast and big. (That is, in fact, what she said). Heavy hockey player
Vesey continues to be one of the best bargains in the NHL |

Honestly I’m probably going to come off biased here but I think the goal against Colombus was the wrong call. Cuyle shoots the puck the puck is clearly behind the goal line. The ref loses sight of the puck and calls the play dead. They look back at the replay and decipher that the play was ruled dead before the puck goes in which is wrong… Last night Hughes takes a shot hits Igor in the chest. Ref has full intent to blow the whistle and actually hear the whistle before the puck trickles in. I’m sorry but that play is over. That’s on the ref for blowing the whistle too soon but we see that a million times where it’s a shot to the chest the ref loses sight of the puck and assumes he has it and blows the whistle. That’s not a continuation of a play. I’m sure like many of you have played and watched hockey their entire lives. I can’t remember ever a time that the calls are so different game to game depending on who is calling the game. Don’t get me started on that elbow to Lindgrens head. Fine you don’t want to call a 5 min major I’m cool with that but that’s clearly a 2 min minor. It’s a late hit and targets the head. I must be watching a different game idk.

I think Trocheck got away with one too. I think it was Holtz. He didn’t have the puck at all and Trocheck nailed him pretty good.

Tennis too. As soon as a shot is close to the line the review is instantaneous and unbelievably accurate with recreated video. NHL needs to step it up. |

As others have said, the biggest issue is inconsistency. Apparently the whistle is completely irrelevant now.
Goals count after the whistle blows
Goals don't count before the whistle blows
Then of course there is the old "I intended to blow the whistle"
So every occurrence is a roll of the dice, except they all seem to go against us |

Insufferable is still better than the cringe of screaming like it was a cup win during a mid November game. Devils fans clearly have you in their back pocket. |

That goalie situation is quite concerning. Vanacek goes across the crease slower than any goalie I can think of. |
