Draisaitl for Carlo and Ullmark. I'm sure Holland can convince them to waive the NTCs for EDM. |

Yes the Leafs should hold off signing Kneelander, no mater what’s happening in Edmonton. Love Willie but the recipe doesn’t work. |

The only way those two get out of Edmonton is via free agency. They will want the world + in order to begin talks. They will lose. McDavid becomes the highest paid NHL player ever to walk the earth and Draisaitl will get a HUGE contract sa well. They will sign with a championship caliber team and both will be happy in the playoffs. I could see both taking a paycut to sign to a legitimate contender |

Says anyone that is deathly scared that the Leafs might actually win some day soon.
Some peoples summers would be ruined if the Leafs won, it would be hilarious to see. |

Neither the Bruins or the Leafs have the assets to trade for either of those Edmonton guys. |

Really? So Matthews, Marner or Nylander are not good enough to start trade talks with Edmonton? Interesting.
Some people will say anything if it means making a lame attempt to insult the Leafs.

That's not how I read his comment at all.
The Leafs and the Bruins don't have anything, they'd be willing to give up, to acquire those two players.
The Bruins would start with one of their goalies, probably the older one. They'd likely throw in DeBrusk and then 2 first round picks...for either of those players. I can't see the Bruins doing that.
The Leafs would start with maybe Marner, maybe Nylander, throw in Nies and then the 2 first round picks plus plus. None of that takes into account all the M-NTC's
I can't see the Leafs mortgaging their future either for a few years of McDavid or Leon. And the Leafs especially after kinda not getting the expected returns when they got the Snake from Long Island. Fool me once.... |

First off, you'd have to take into consideration the Leafs don't want to make any lateral moves so why would they trade Matthews and/or Marner? Use some common sense here. |

The Oilers aren't going to trade either of them unless it IMMEDIATELY make them a better/deeper team. They aren't going to take a step back for any reason. There are only a handful of teams deep enough to give them the assets required to trade for a true generational player (McBaby) or a top ten player in Draisaitl. |

I don't see it happening for the Bruins because Edm would prob ask for Swayman, and the Bruins don't even have a 2024 1st-rounder

Or the Leafs could sign Nylander and if by some MIRACLE McDavid signs there, just trade Nylander somewhere for FREE (or realistically, prospects and picks) for the capspace
That way they are covered either way
But, that might make some SENSE Ek |

Nylander would insist on some form of trade protection, for the first year or two anyway.
Otherwise he might as well not sign, and just wait for Free Agency, and have more control over where he ends up.

If you look at it from Edmonton's point of view, I just don't see why they'd be in a rush to trade these two guys. They'll probably start by trying to fix the goalie situation, maybe they'll try to improve their defence...I see a lot of relatively minor or moderate changes happening before they start thinking about trading their 2 stars. |

McDavid + Nurse to the Bruins for
Swayman, McAvoy, and Zacha
The Oiler get Arizona involved trade their first round and 3/4th to dump Campbell and whoever the Bruins want to dump salary wise.
I keep Leon over McDavid and while I know the "franchise" loses if McDavid goes but I think the team improves dramatically without McDavid and Nurse doing their own thing every couple shifts. I am tired of watch Nurse abandon gap control in favor of being a goalie and McDavid 2 ZIP codes away from his zone coverage since he is wheeling around to gain speed for an offensive zone rush before the puck has entirely left their own defensive zone.
The root problem in Edmonton is those 2 guys marching to the beat of their own drums. |

Gms in this league will never learn that throwing money at something to solve a problem creates even more problems than solutions I hope the salary cap never increases All it does is make more players who do not deserve the money get more money You end up in the same place and have to keep raising prices on everything to make the players and owners rich YOU as fans are the only ones who suffer Inflated ticket prices and less return on your investment MONEY never solves anything Just like trying to buy LOVE IT DOES NOT WORK Make the GM's work to solve problem instead of thinking that YOUR money will solve the problems |

why would the Leafs trade Matthews for McDavid, not worth it.
i would not want Leon nobody plays with except McDavid and unless the Leaf's are giving up their top three which have won as much as Leon and McCoach killer
