Hart earns us a point. 3v3 really exposes our lack of high end talent.

If it was Atkinson or another golden boy who "didn't listen", there's no way Torts would have benched them for almost a whole game. Accountability for some is not accountability. |

Outside of the first the flyers played really well. They struggle to score, common theme here. |

Tough to argue with frustrated with Torts decision making with Farabee, Frost and Brink.
I’m really, really having a tough time watching Couturier and Atkinson play. I do enjoy watching Sanheim get rewarded for his even strength offense. He’s more aggressive now than I’ve seen him his entire career. Sadly I think I haven’t been overly impressed by his defense this season. It was just because overshowed by his offense. Now his defense seems to be tailing off by the game. |

I just took a gander at the Flyers upcoming schedule through January 4th (ending with a home game against Columbus) and I'm not sure the Flyers will be favored in any games until that January 4th game. If they keep their head above water it may be a miracle. The Patrick Division is a jumbled mess with 4 points separating 6 teams. My guess is Jersey takes the 3rd divisional spot (Rags and Canes the others) and then the rest will have to vie for the wild card spots. The Caps should fall back cause they keep pulling out 1 goal games. They are a -4 goal differential and 6 games over .500 somehow. They are the Eagles of the NHL. How bout dem Cowboys!! |

Good effort from the boys. Those Hughes fellas are good.
Dumb move by Torts to bench Farabee the entirety of the game. Give him a shift to see if the message got through. |

One period would have been plenty. Especially with Hathaway ejected.

That slash TK took in the third made me question the officiating of the game.
I get why Torts benched Farabee, but for the entire game? I think that builds resentment. If it was just for the period, it would feel appropriate. |

I don't get why. Why did he bench Farabee?

Watching the play in question, if Farabee gets the puck there, its considered a good play. It wasnt even that egregious a risk. Everybody get back for the most part and its a save Hart should make from there.
We want our players to be aggressive offensively, except you Joel.

The incompetence of the refs on the ice is supposed to be tempered by the folks in Toronto.
It's why we wait for their august decisions.
I await further 'justice' delivered to Hathaway via fines.
Maybe a suspension?
I think that the Dweebs didn't score because they have a better sense of 'fairness' than the refs.
They wouldn't have been able to sleep from the guilt.
That the coach, down a player, sawed at his own neck by benching Farabee, that is some seriously messed up psychological manifesting of self-harm.
I recommend a few days at the clinic until he is stable.

Was it the failed pinch or the lack of hustle back? |

The NHLPA should go on strike in protest. That was solely on the linesman for not blowing his whistle. He actually did it again later in the game. Hathaway was just playing to the whistle and finishing his check. Yeah, it was a hard check, but he didn't check him into the boards, so a 5 minute boarding call is ridiculous. The other reason the hit looked bad was because Hughes let up thinking the play was going to be called on the icing. Torts should have deked the ref!! |

Last night’s game was an eye-opener. It’s 2 1/2 hours of my life I’ll never get back. This team is the epitome of mediocrity. Does not have elite talent to consistently win against teams with elite talent. Is not so bad that it’s a legitimate bottom feeder who can grab a Jack Hughes in the drafts. Has a coach who sends kids to bed without supper for not listening. Coddles his favorite sons. Has a limp front office that seems invisible and clueless as to how to build a franchise in 2023. Doesn’t seem to realize that building a culture can actually happen at the same time you build a franchise to be a winner in the future. In other words, if Vegas is the Beatles and Arizona is Hanson, the Flyers are the Maroon Five of the NHL. They are uninspiring. Somewhat entertaining. Plain vanilla. And really just meh on every level.
And when I say “eye opener” I mean whatever orange colored glasses I had remaining are now off. I tried to be positive with the new management and the rebuild, despite many of you telling me “there is no rebuild”. You were all right I was was wrong. I’m about as apathetic now as I was before Fletcher got canned. |

Excuse me but I will not tolerate the Hanson slander. MmmmBop is a banger and beats anything Adam Levine and Maroon 5 crapped out in their career.
I will die on this hill.

In "hockey time" the whistle was blown well after the hit was delivered. You play to the whistle. Hathaway has an appeal if they try to fine or suspend him and it is a good one.
As for Farabee, after watching the play in question over and over. I cant imagine what Torts told him that he didnt listen about.

I thought it was a rather entertaining game (the first that I could actually watch in it's entirety in awhile). Everyone knows that they are mediocre. They at least compete and don't quit. I still think it's too early to give up on this new regime just yet. Let's see how things progress. Staal didn't play last night which was nice since he is one of Torts' pets. Perhaps Torts is trying to change some...although the Farabee benching would suggest otherwise. |
