Hey Bill, how come Gendron has only played 11 games? Injured? I see he wasn't in the lineup yesterday. |

good to see Staal in the lineup after a rough game. Coach showing confidence that he can bounce back. Great sign of respect. - hello it's me 2050
Think it’s just last games or has there been an official update ? Staal is so bad, zamula needs to get in here. |

Bill Meltzer: Flyers Gameday: 12/4/23 vs PIT; Phantoms Lose in Providence - bmeltzer
Thanks, Bill... Normally you don't like to give a same division/conference team a point, but doing so late Saturday, after being down in the game makes it completely tolerable... and winning yet another shootout in short order is a good change of pace for the Flyers. And, another Shortie was an added good thing as it helps reel in opponents PPs a tad... Here's hoping Flyers can add to the win with another one tonight, or at the very least come away with a wash in the two-game set against their cross state rivals... and standings competitors. Maybe the end of this game will be free of E-A-G-L-E-S chants sending the Fly-guys off on the road. Thing are trending up... which is never a bad thing, no matter how some fans look at it, IMO. |

Well, he’s a developing young player. You can’t just yo yo him in and out of the lineup or he won’t progress haha |

Third game in less than three nights. They've been sitting him in a game when the 3-in-3s arise. Overall, he's being worked in gradually. Some games, he's played limited 5-on-5 time but regular power play duty. Other games, more regular shifts at ES, too.
There are games where he looks completely overwhelmed and in over his head and then times (mostly when there's some open ice, because his skating and hands are legit) where he materializes in scoring position and buries chances. But has lots of work ahead of him in developing many different aspects of his game, becoming physically mature, etc. |

Wow do the Penguins stink. They are completely cooked and I just have to laugh at ownership.
Believe it or not it seems most Pens fans agree with ownership. I talked to a few Pens fans in the wild a few weeks ago and I asked them if they’d rather die a slow death with no legit shot while keeping Crosby/Malkin or trade them to spur a rebuild, and they wanted to see them finish their careers as Penguins!
Sad to see. |

Sounds good. Don’t want to mess with too much after a win. |

Hi Bill, Quick follow up question on Gendron. I thought I read somewhere that he wasn't eligible for the AHL this year. Was there an exception made for him by any chance?

Whose fault is it going to be this year? Who will be the scapegoat?

I wonder about that too. Since he turns 20 on the 30th of December.
edit: found this. he makes it by 1 day.

The specifics of this rule state that the player must be 20 before January 1st (or midnight December 31st) or to have played four seasons in the CHL. |

maybe just maybe they trade the holy trinity in the last year of their deals and get huge jump on their rebuild. Assuming all 3 still playing a very good level they could acquire numerous assets.

love this post cliff. Defend your dad until the end. Ronald was the main reason they stunk last year and missed the playoffs. Accept it, get over it, and move on cliff. |

It was. But it is also well documented that he wanted to part ways with Malkin and Letang and start a rebuild. Fenway sports over ruled him and told him to sign both.
No excuse for the Carter deal.
