York had a decent game last night…although I do think Torts blamed him on the goal against. Risto has had some success on the PP when he was in Buffalo. I think Walker would be a candidate as well. Hard to see what the plan is when they haven’t really had any in the last two games…but when it’s that bad of a PP they should try something different on the backend.

It's been York on PP1, Ristolainen on PP2.

york needs to be on pp1. risto did have success in buff as you dont put up 4 x 40 pts in a row without playing a role on the pp, but id have him on pp2 at most.

Lawson Crouse feels like he has been in the nhl for decades.

Same year as TK right. I think it was reported when they were drafted that they used to be very close. but may be wrong.

Was harder to get shorties last year when they usually weren’t out there for a whole 2 min.

The next 8 games are going to tell a lot about this team. 7 are against teams currently in playoff position with the 8th being against New Jersey. If they are comfortably in playoff spot by the end of the month, barring injury you can kiss selling goodbye.

Probably can already kiss it goodbye. Would have to be far out for them to give up the season.

I don't want the Flyers to put up a "for sale" sign with an asking price or best offer. I want them to have an open line with a standard of willing to listen to offers. Who they decide to trade, should be based on the quality of return for players not on expiring contracts. With one exception. Any offer without requiring taking a bad contract back or retaining salary for Ristolainen should be accepted. If a team like the Leafs would give the Flyers a 3rd rounder and take the entire contract, that should be a done deal. Obviously, with players on expiring contracts that aren't going to be re-signed, it's take the best offer.

Is that not what briere has stated, they are open for business? The lines open.

Toronto wants Risto but they are requiring salary retention for the length of the remaining contract. The Flyers do not want dead money in the year when they think they will be good again. From what I am hearing, if a team is willing to take Risto's contract without salary retention, the Flyers are willing to move him.

It is! But MJL does not care, he wants Hilferty, Jones, Briere and Torts gone regardless.

This is funny, when exactly do you think they will be “good again”

I do, you're right. The same group also told us they're rebuilding. Then in interviews, they're not going to put rebuilding ahead of winning. You may be willing to gullibly believe what they say, but I'm not. It's at a prove to me stage in my view.

Wow, don't understand where this question comes from to be honest. I don't know why we just can't be happy that we have a hockey season this year, and enjoy the Flyers are winning some games and are heading in the right direction.

But to try to answer your question, I suspect the Flyers want to be ready to contend when Michkov joins the team, if they ever let him out of Russian.

I don’t see a match with Toronto for Ristolainen. The Leafs are too cash strapped to take on a high end 3rd pair defenseman with that term. My sense is that the Flyers aren’t actively trying to trade Ristolainen so they will want more back. I think Tanev is who the Leafs want.

It depends on how desperate Toronto (or any team) is and how much they want Risto. For example, if all Toronto gives up is a 3rd round pick then they need to take the contract. If Toronto offers the Flyers a 1st round pick, the Flyers will retain salary.

Yes, let's settle for the bare minimum and not require more. Just be glad the team is playing. No thanks.
