I really like Puss' speed to the puck. He's not a big guy but seems undeterred when forechecking. Like a young Jake.

He clearly has skill and I think with that Geno setup he may have gained a bit more respect from Evgeni.

Hopefully they continue to gel as a line and not Geno trying to do it all himself.

The Canucks are going to trade a guy that had 74 points last year for a defender who struggles to hit 30 points?

if Kuzmenko isn't productive with Pettersen or JT Miller while they are having career type seasons I am not sure how productive he would be here. I do like his game and maybe Geno could take him under his polar bear arms.

why would Vancouver do that though? we would need to add a 2nd if not 1st to make that deal happen.

Ya that 74 point player last season has now been healthy scratched 4 times this season and more to come. Also taken off the top PP and is now playing about 12 minutes a game over the last 8 ish games. With the Canucks scouting defensive left handed d men right now I’d say it’s a close fit.

5.5 mill healthy scratch isn’t helping Vancouver right now and not many healthy scratches get traded for a 1st plus. Sam Lafferty is playing over him…

Keep in mind Dubas only a couple months ago thought highly enough to give Graves a 6 year 4.5 mill deal and at the time said he was a top pairing D man… I know for a fact at least 1 other offer for graves was 3 years 5.5 mill per which thankfully he didn’t take. I’d take a guess those aren’t the only 2 GMs that wanted him and value him that highly.

Kuzmenko is talented offensively and a good player when he’s engaged. Defensively he is and was a big defensive question mark since coming over. He shot like 29% last season which isn’t sustainable. From when I’ve scouted him I’d guess he’s more of a 25 ish goal 50 ish point player “if” he’s on the top 2 lines with PP time.

Haha looking that way. From what we know so far he is getting healthy scratched again tomorrow night in Dallas.

As of 5 days ago they were. I don’t think they see Myers, Cole, Soucy as top 4 dmen and Zadorov can play LD or RD. My guess is they want a soucy/cole with Myers bottom pairing

Graves for Kuzmenko, interesting.

That would give us two decent wings for the third line, assuming all are healthy.

My guess is Lugvig gets the added responsibility because Joseph is definitely behind him at the moment. Let's see:

Guentzel/Crosby/Rust
Kuzmenko/Malkin/Puustinen
Smith/Eller/Rakell

Ludvig/Letang
Pettersson/Karlsson
Joseph/Ruhwedel

I see Blueger is on a bit of a heater, how's he looking?

I like that forward group a lot! Idk how well ludvig handles those duties though.

Sullivan needs to roll the three lines for it be effective. Screw the 4th line, let them take most of the d-zone draws. Otherwise they can ride the pine.

As far as the defense, I doubt Joseph gets the top 4 assignment. He's benched behind Ludvig and Ruhwedel now.
