So is Pettersson the team's most important defenseman? |
|

Sid had the night off Well deserved |

I think it’s a tie for Petts. Without his stability and ability to play with Letang and ek, they can’t do Letang and ek things. Prime example of the opposite is Ryan graves.
I still just don’t like Petterson. But he must easily be the most underrated D man in the league and his cap hit is becoming a steal. |

Letang’s night was so crazy he entered the contest tied-32nd in assists among NHL defensemen. He leaves it tied-10th.
I read this elsewhere and thought it was funny. |

Sullivan cannot possibly sit Puustinen or send him down. He should be top 6 RW and PP1. That shot was elite. |

Eric Karlson. 6 pts last 17 games. 1 goal. Totally worth 10 million. |

Jeff Carter with 4 points in his last 27 games, on pace for a whopping 12 points through 82 games, pacing at $250,000 per point. Totally worth $3 million! |

Carters worth us closer to his cap hit than Karlson bud. That and Carters just cool. Plays hard, loves the game. He can show Karlson his Stanley cup championship rings too! |

Rust practiced in a full contact jersey and there was a scrimmage at end. He did skip the special team work.
Rust was 3LW and Zohorna was missing, but he isn't eligible to play next game. |

That’s a good sign but hopefully they’re not bringing him back to early. I read somewhere they hope he can deal with it for the season and deal with it properly afterwards. |

Yohe made that comment on Madden's show. Must be a shoulder problem.

So who do we sit for rust to come back. Puusti has earned his spot. Doc or Zohan? Or one of them goes to the 4th and harkens sits? |

I think Z. Sully clearly likes DOC. I don't know how safe Puustinen is. He should be for now, but Sully has been moving him down the lineup and off the top PP. |

I agree with this. I think Rust could help on the 3rd line. I think Puustinen should be the top 6 (even though I know it won't happen).

It's gotta be Z. He just seems to always fall back into obscurity after a few good games.
Sounds like Puusti is pretty popular in the locker room......or so says Armstrong on the radio today.

I think they'll go
Jake - Sid - Rak
Smith - Geno - Rust
DOC - Eller - Puust
Hark - Acciari - Carter
though could flip Rak and Rust. |

Yeah I think Z is really good at the whole bringing an extra jump when he’s called up thing but when he becomes a regular he proves to not be an NHL quality forward. He’s in his prime years so he’s probably hit his ceiling as a 13th forward. Puustinen still has some intrigue. |

Z does the same thing in WBS. He shows up for a night or 2, or sometimes only a shift or 2 then he disappears. Nylander and Puustinen are consistent. Same with Gruden he is pretty consistent down in WBS |

Have they tried Tanger and Petts on PP1 yet? I think everyone is underestimating Petts ability to make plays and he solidifies the blueline.
I'm not a EK hater but he's earned a demotion.
We'll see if Geno has turned a corner after hitting that milestone. |
