Tarasov has had 2 really strong games in a row. It will be interesting to see if Vincent has him in net again Saturday. When it comes to goalies, normally a coach goes with the hot hand . . . let's see.
Overall the skaters looked terrible for the first 40 minutes - couldn't put two good passes together. Konecney's first goal was an absolute defensive breakdown to leave all alone on the back post. Columbus has been doing that for years - hundreds of times. They can't/won't cover the back post - goalie is hung out to dry.
They were also, again, being doubled up on SOG.

Apparently something clicked in the last 20. They seemed to increase the intensity at both ends, and took more shots - almost equaled what they took in the first 40 minutes.
Nice come-back !! And the kids are getting more TOI. Fantilli is closing in on team point leaders.

Well birdie03,

DT played pretty well last night, until he gave up the tying goal. There is no way that should have gone in.

That's 12 blown 3rd period leads in 11 games...

They are 2-2-7 in those games. and 2-1-5 when they blow leads in the last five minutes of the game...

Now that easy half of the schedule is done (4 long roadies coming up, 3 of them out west) and a ton of Metro games to be played, we may be headed to the top of the lottery again, ugh.

jk - yeup, agree on the tying goal. Quite the softie, never should have gone in. They have to find a cure for the 3rd P choking. If they'd have won 1 of the loses, and 4 of the OTL that would be 6 more points and they'd be within a few points of a WC. But another high pick might help the long term health of the club.
And again you're right - at this point we're in the bottom 5 - which should be a good pick - unless Bettman pulls another "sleight of hand" trick and the BlueJackets get jumped by a big-market team.
