Not gonna say a 'statement' win as of yet but beat a very good team last night and Demko looked much better than vs New Jersey. Lotto line is rolling. Big day vs NYI.

Great win against a top 10 team.
Hronek looking more like a 3-5 defender than a 1-2.

Thanks NYN, was a fun game to watch with some highlight reel goals.

Benning said the hardest thing to do in the NHL was to score goals and he instructed his scouts to find players that scored goals.

Hronek looked great last night, two assists and +4 on the night. 32 points in 40 games and +28 on the year while averaging almost 24 minutes a night, he moves the puck so efficiently and defends adequately. What a great pick up for Allvin!!

I figure if you got in early and gave him security, wouldn't be paying 8 x 8 or more.

Sat said yesterday sticker shock

I saw yesterday that Nylander's deal is less than Pasta's. Pasta's cap percentage was 13.64% and Nylander's is probably going to be around 13.11%

Pasta's 13.64% at next years projected cap at 87.5M would actually be about 11.93M per year. So Pasta in year 2 is going to be missing out on 700k every year and more when the cap goes up it will be worse.

That's where the Leafs (frank) up. They are giving the top cap hit on 5 years deals. They should be giving that hit of a cap percentage on an 8 year deal. Matthews agent is smart though.

Didn’t get to watch the whole game here in Mexico, but was watching those 2 slick goals by EP40 and then Hoglander.

Nice to see the upgraded back end play together and balance the toi.

Fingers crossed that the injury bug stays away.

Pretty fun game to watch.
I know Hughes didn't load up on points, but he had a fantastic game, as did all the defensemen. It sure is nice seeing the forwards helping out, doing their jobs defensively.
Miller's line was pretty darn good last night.

Oh ya, some pretty nice goals were scored.

Very impressive win.
The Canucks look like the real deal to me.
Tocchet has to be up for coach of the year.
Skill, size on defense, goaltending I think you have a real chance to beat anybody in a playoff series.
Good luck with the rest of the season (except when you play the Leafs)

Back to back games, I don't like their chances as the legs/brains get tired mid second period. Need to lock it down defensively.

I can't say honestly. He deserves a raise and a lot of others like him are in the 2's. If you pay him in the 2s and he goes back to previous years, wouldn't look so good.

JFresh@JFreshHockey

Someone with access to proprietary data told me they have the Islanders as the worst defensive team in the NHL (yes, worse than the Sharks) but with the best goaltending in the league.

Lane Lambert should be very grateful to his goalies #Isles

If they can keep hronek and willander flashes as a rookie next year slash year after we will be a cup contender if the boys keep playing this way. We aren't deep enough on the back yet

They've exceeded the expected wins despite the scheduled win awarded to them in Jersey. After adjustments, they should regress and likely lose tonight.
