The Ullmark injury looked painful. Hope he and Poitras are going to be ok.
Also I know it sucked, but I have a hard time blaming a cold goalie for going in without a warmup. This team is showing that they are having a tough time hanging onto games. Its going to be difficult down the stretch unless there is a fix for this soon. Games are only going to get more difficult towards the playoffs. |

Swayman should not be blamed period. That's a rough situation. Full or even slightly healthier lineup and it doesn't get to that point. It's going to be a tough stretch with a skeleton crew now. |

Makes me nervous. Nothing to do now but grind it out and get healthy.
Any news on Forbort? Seems like he has been sitting in unknown status for a while. |

Hopefully there's no panic moves.
Fill in the empty slots with kids and see what they've got.
Bruins better not trade any of the (few) futures they have. Just ride out the season.

Yeah, the Forbert loss is much bigger than many want to believe. The guy is a beast shutdown d-man and we miss him in those situations. Reports I see are a groin injury that they have been putting him back in when it was "good enough" but the latest sit-down they were taking the approach of let's actually let it heal this time...I don't believe he is actually practicing with the team yet. |

We are barely treading water. If not for the last two loser points we would be tied point-wise with Florida and they would be ahead based upon ROW. And Toronto is right be hind them with games in hand. With these injuries, I see us dropping to 3rd in the Atlantic very soon unless some guys really step up. Let's hope Bussi is good for some games. |

Fair enough. I feel like Lindholm's struggles, at least in part, are due to him taking over a lot of Forbort's responsibilities defensively. Will be nicer when they can just get healthy (if ever) |

This! Forbort is a stalwart part of this D and a shot blocking machine. The Saturday Morning Hockey show on 98.5 (shot out, Ty!) Beers and Judd stated that Forbort is progressing but nothing definitive.

I know it's more Providence guys but last saw Ian Mitchel and Alec Regula have been playing well too. Might time to give one of them a look. Hopefully Bussi is ready to make his debut and I would imagine Merkulov is back up with Poitras being hurt.

Lindholm has been average at best since McAvoy came back last season. With McAvoy out to start the season and Lindholm as the defacto #1...he was a stud. Since then...meh. I don't know if it is psychological or what...but since he hasn't had the pressure of being "the man" he's been nowhere near his contract worth. |

Ill be honest, I wasn't expecting another 50+ point season from him. Would be nice if he settled into somewhere around 40 though. Could be the pressure of not having the offense they did last year to cover up the D mistakes. Could also be a lingering injury too? I just dont see the same player as last year so something is definitely up.

Could also give Farinacci a look too. Not the circumstances you want some guys to get their first look, but here we are.
I would like to see Bussi get a start or two. They can ride Sway a little more with an AHL tender backing up, maybe a 2-1 ratio or perhaps more. But I like the alternating games to avoid fatigue.
Time to see the depth! Cheers gentlemen. |

I sure hope there isn't anyone getting in Poitras' head about being more physical. He doesn't have the body for it right now and as Dougie said, that is off-season work (bulk up). But is sure seems like someone is telling him he needs to play "a man's game" and be more physical. He needs to use his current gifts (elusiveness, quickness, and puck handling) to win "puck battles". He needs to be avoiding hits right now and certainly not attempting to deliver them...he's going to come up on the short end of the stick every time right now (just like last night). |

I'm not sure if I said it or someone else did, but I agree. If he isn't going to be rested periodically in an attempt for him to do a minor bulk up during the season, then he needs to play a smarter game until that weight is on his frame. Little bumps here and there dont bother me, but what he attempted yesterday is going to get him in trouble right now. |

I think I mentioned it. Its a misconception that you can bulk up mid season. The way guys train now its way more focused on skating on skills rather than chucking weights in the gym. |

Weight training during the year I think is going to be more focused on building strength rather than gaining mass. You might get a little bit of weight, but I think giving younger players a week off here and there to focus solely on building strength is a better training option. They do too much cardio to really bulk up.
Anaheim had a great thing going with Leo Carlsson before he got injured. He was really starting to pick up the scoring pace before he went down and be stronger on the puck |

So am I the only getting tired of Monty not being able to leave lines alone so guys can develop chemistry? Injury changes are one thing but he seems to make continuous wholesale changes. |

I'm OK with it (not thrilled) with a depleted lineup I expected the Knights to hang 4 on them in regulation.
