Good story, Stewy.

I wish the the players today could and would stand up for themselves, and do so. However, with the enormous money involved, players don’t have each others’ backs like they used to. Back in the day, your teammate’s were like family. There wasn’t as much movement from team to team as we see today. They’re like mercenaries. Hence, team loyalty suffers. Add in, no one wants to get hurt, and miss a potential big payday, and you see ambivalence league wide.

Billy Meltzer has good blog this morning as the Flyers writer. He talked about his first game that led to becoming a fan, and others shared their stories.

Between the two of you, it me harken back to the days when hockey was still hockey! Remember the beating the Flyers gave to Soviets? Or the Bruins climbing the boards to beat some moron with his own shoe?!?!
