Definitely a stinker of an effort. I like when a coach holds his players accountable and redistributed ice-time, but it should not just be the forwards being held accountable.
The 3rd line was once again the teams best and the playing time reflects that.
Losing to a team that has been run well, has culture and consistency, for decades now, is what we as Canucks fans can only hope this team/organization can become, but that doesn't happen in 1 season. |

After showing well against some good teams recently, Carolina/Leafs/Rangers, and winning all of those games, this was a really disappointing effort. Every once and awhile in life, you need a swift kick in the pants, this was the Canucks. |

Good news on the Coyotes front.
BREAKING 🚨🚨
Per @CraigSMorgan a government source said that the Coyotes arena was discussed today and the meeting went well.
This could be wrapped up in 3 months.
This is NOT final, but it's great news. |

“Per a government source, an Arizona Coyotes land deal in North Phoenix could be wrapped up in 3 months.
The 100 acres is right at the corner of the 101 and Scottsdale Road.”

Via LeBrun:
No rushing Lindholm extension
Don’t expect extension talks anytime soon between the Canucks and newly acquired Elias Lindholm, who is a pending unrestricted free agent. Both sides are comfortable waiting and seeing how the player adjusts to his new team and how the playoffs go. There’s a lot of time after the season to address it. The Canucks knew when they traded for him he could just be a rental and were OK with that risk. But they do have hope of making it a long-term relationship.
One thing to keep in mind is, the Canucks have coveted Lindholm for quite a while. They had interest in trading for him last summer, speaking to Calgary about him all the way back to when Craig Conroy took over as GM in the offseason.
That, in some ways, suggests the Canucks always viewed him as a long-term fit. But again, those contract talks will wait for now.
The other layer here is that if for whatever reason the Elias Pettersson contract talks go sideways this summer, and I’m not suggesting they will, Lindholm would obviously be a nice Plan B at center.
But there’s no question in my mind that the only scenario the Canucks are hoping to pull off is signing both Pettersson and Lindholm to long-term deals. |

Would be fine if both Petey and Lindholm signed for that. Thinking Lindy may want a longer contract, though... |

I wouldn't call this good news.
Once shovels actually hit the ground, the new arena will take about 3 years to build, so at the earliest they might be playing in an actual nhl rink with actual nhl seating capacity.
All of this providing that the shovels can hit the ground in that 3 month timeframe. Not sure what type of regulatory rules are in place, but I would think that adds on at least another year.

Thanks NYN. Fans who can’t take the gut punch of a game and puke all over the Canucks are soft. They need to suck it up and appreciate where the Canucks are now.
RT has the pulse on this group and they will learn and move on. It was a disappointing turd but it’s just one game. They have beat top teams as NYN alluded to their record. They have more big games ahead to add to it. |

That's twice as far from downtown Phoenix as Glendale.... why not build the
arena on the lip of the Grand Canyon instead? Imagine the view...

And that's best case scenario. For an owner who is known for not paying his bills, there are probably going to be a few long delays thrown into the mix... |

Maybe they will increase property taxes, to help pay for the arena, I am sure Lefty would be fine with that. |

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. Is he (Meruelo) just holding his cards close to his vest waiting for a sale or does he actually want to build his own entertainment district. |

Tell me you don't know what you're talking about, without telling me you don't know what you're talking about....that land is within different city limits. Scottsdale, where we live, mayor already said there will be no public funds for any arena project. |

Could be interesting to see what the team would sell for. I know Ottawa sold for over 900 million, but they had an arena to play in, not sure what a team with no home is worth. |
