Im hoping less pressure/weight on Wennberg's shoulders improves his game. |

Herman has a good take on Guentzel:
Another departing thought on Guentzel. Dubas is talkign a big game about the return he demands. As he should. But if teams don't budge then what is he going to do? Not trade him?
What happens if Carolina gets bored and decides on Toffoli? What happens to Guentzel's market?
Guentzel may end up costing a ton. Or, maybe the Penguins have to settle for what they can get. It's a game of poker for everyone involved. I imagine the Rangers have set their internal limit for what they'll move for Guentzel and it comes down to how the market plays out. |

Why I tweeted earlier in response to Yohe's tweet. It's a staring contest. Who blinks first and is it at 2:58pm Friday? Pitt has to get something back for Guentzel, question is what will be enough? |

Hanafin didn’t go for very much all things considered and he’s the best dman with Jake the best forward.
Saw my boy mickey8 suggest - Sykora, a first, Jones and 4th for retention. Now we’re talkin. I could see something like that as Drurys internal limit like you said. Especially if there is no extension talks |

Exactly, Pitt can't hold onto him for nothing. Gonna be real interesting to see who blinks. |

They can, it'll just prove Dubas knows crap about being a GM and Shanny was right to tell him to (frank) off |

Detroit may have a decision to make with you know who. They are getting crushed. Makar is ridic, hattrick through 2 periods. |

I think it largely depends on what Dubas thinks his chance could be to resign Jake if he doesnt trade him.
There's been stories all year that Jake doesnt want to resign and other stories that the Penguins havent made an attempt to sign him. A decent reporter in Pittsburgh reported yesterday that Dubas wants to get a decision made before Friday so he can take a run at resigning him if nothing pans out.
Everyone is saying different things. I could see anything happening.

Jan, thank you for a terrific right up to the minute post.
I hope they keep Kakko. To me the team chemistry is fine. Adding Wennberg without subtracting anymore from the roster was perfect. If they land a big fish, I hope it's the same methodology, adding without subtracting. |

I completely agree Kakko has underachieved tremendously. With that being said, I think trading him for a rental is a mistake. |

I’d like to see them go after Edmundson for some depth on D. They could probably use a bigger guy back there and he’s been good in the playoffs. If not him some sort of crease clearer type guy
Probably could get him half retained while not being overly expensive to get |

Starting next season, Owen Power will make just a little less money than Cale Makar.
lol
Oh yeah. He will also be making more money than Quinn Hughes |

I still dont understand how needing a RW and trading for a LW solves our problem. Especially if subtracting KK, which I highly doubt Drury will trade to the Pens
Chemistry is the key to a teams success in the Post Season. If adding another LW JG will be playing his offside unless Panarin (highly unlikely) or CK20 are moved to their off wing.
I would have thought with all this time the team wanting to acquire a RW, they would have given Othmann a real shot at it. |

Here’s my only concern in the pursuit of Gruntzel. Is he a successful product of having played with Crosby for 5 years? We all know how some players make those they play with better, like Panarin. |

It’s just not Othman’s time yet. Like Cuylle he needed a full year in AHL. |

What I remember most about Guentzel was those 8 goals he scored against us in that 7 game series back in 2022.
Rangers had no answer for him. |

Ah yes, I remember it well.
I would think if they traded for Gruntzel, Kakko most likely would be part of the deal. Pens would play him with Sid, giving him the POSSIBILITY of showing some improvement. The good news is Crosby turns 38 in August, not sure how much longer he intends to play.
I’m not saying Kakko is the the next Alex Kovalev, I truly don’t believe he will be much more than he is now. But there will be a boost in the short term.

I would circle back to Buffalo to see if they can pry Tuch. Would be a great fit on the 1st line. I believe only 27. Had some injuries over the past few years. I think KK would have to go but I’m willing. I know many would not agree, but only my opinion. |

Friday maybe an afterthought considering some of the big trades made. |

I would be all in for him. However, the GM has stated he’s not going anywhere. |
