He proved it 2 years ago with 13 goals in 15 games. Last year in the playoffs he had been dealing with some bad injuries and missed half the season. - Oildrum
And none of that means a thing right now. Whether it’s fair or not it’s a “what have you done for me lately” league. Kane was excellent in Game 3 but for this team to have success he needs to bring it on a nightly basis.
Thank god you guys got a PP - I was afraid you would have win a game based on 5v5 play. - Big23Questions
And a weak call at that.
Anytime PLD is on the ice, the Oilers might as well be on a power play because that guy is straight up garbage. I wonder if Blake is making Hiller dress him just to save face.

PLD is better than any other option LA has up right now....

Oilers 64 powerplay goals to Detroits 63 pp goals. Skill is the reason detroit missed the playoffs. - Vanillaface
Well it’s one of the reasons Wings missed yes
2 Players (consistently) - 97/29
A rotating 3rd - sometimes RNH or Kane or Skinner or Bouchard
Power Plays
= Oilers success
They aren’t so much a good team as much as they are 2 players and a PP. No apologies on their part. It is successful to then. But I will never look at them as a good hockey team.

Wait...successful teams don't usually have superstar players, solid depth, and efficient special teams?
Guess that 76-77 Canadiens team wasn't all that great since they had Guy LaFleur and Steve Shutt and were good on the powerplay.

Not sure you got what I said....Oilers do not have depth. They have the best player in the world and a PP.
And to the other comment above about Oliers being 4th in blah blah - yep. Its hockey. PP can swing a games momentum and allow you to build off of it. They win because 97 and the PP goals. They had 7 in 3 games going into last night. PP running at 50%. Thats the success.
Not sticking in here but i will repeat - having McJesus and a PP isn't something to apologize for. Its like when a teams goalie steals a series or a weak defensive has a great one. Thats hockey and good on them. But that doesn't discount the fact:
The Edmonton McPower Plays - are a force because of those 2 factors.
