Well written, Matt.
After the disaster on ice that was game 2 for Boston, all the pressure is on the Bruins to prove that they belong in this series. They'll probably come out strong from the opening face off, but can they maintain composure and play under control? Or are we going to see more of the team that collapsed into anarchy and threw hissy fits while getting spanked? Seriously, despite all the positive spin in the world, what was Pastrnak thinking in fighting Tkachuk? Why did Montgomery give him the green light? Very poor decision putting a top player at risk.
And, yes, there is a goalie controversy. Both goalies experienced a humbling game that destroyed the narrative on Boston goalkeeping. 4 goals on Swayman, then pulling him. Then 2 relatively quick goals on Ullmark, including a shorty. That has to affect goalie confidence. If the Panthers score 3 before the end of period 2, is Montgomery making another switch?
Look for the Panthers to get past the initial wave of Boston emotion and seek to quiet the crowd in their seats. Score first and put the Bruins between the anvil and the hammer.
Go Panthers!
