GMDB will put on his big boy pants and tell Torts “don’t f@$k with this guy”. He’s gonna be the face of the franchise, bobble heads, jerseys, national TV games, Michkov vs Bedard on Wednesday Night Rivalry!

As exciting as this is, our center depth is so pathetic. I wish we had a real guy for him to play with.
Great news about Michkov if true. However what cannot happen is the Flyers try to rush a rebuild as a result. The Flyers need to be aggressive in this draft and the next draft, and trade as many veteran players as they can now. You don't build a championship team with one elite player and a bunch of average players. The Flyers need to start getting potential elite players at all key positions, 1D and 1C specifically. This draft has some potential 1D players at the top of the draft, the Flyers need to get one of these players. The same in next year's draft. Then with these positions filled and Michkov in place, the Flyers have a chance to be something special again.
All the more reason now to add elite talent in the draft so this guy has a supporting cast to grow with. Trade TK at the height of his value, Same for Laughton. Shed RR’s contract. Obtain draft capital and trade up or package for young talent that other teams might not be able to keep or who are in some sort of reset. (See Ottawa, Carolina and Utah). Obtain a future #1 center for the kid at all costs.
Try to sign someone like Terasenko to a short term contract like maybe 2 years to help the young Russian acclimate. We don’t want him ending up like our 22 year old goalie from Russia.

please repeat after me, there is no rebuild.
they will do the opposite of what you suggest. bank on that. they are more likely to go after linholm and overpay him to be the #1 center. begging and hoping they re-sign tk for 8 years at 9 or more per.
flyers are nowhere near being anything special. 2000 light years away. years away.
I wonder what your position will be once the drfat and free agency is over.

This is what I’ve been fearing for a bit now. Michkov coming over will only convince them more to keep TK and go after others like Lindholm and possibly Chychrun. I feel so dejected by this news today. I really thought drafting him and him not coming over for 3 years would actually turn out to be a good thing where they could draft a few more elite players before he came over and then you have a young elite core to build around for a long time. Oh well, go Phillies!

I hope you are wrong wrong wrong but I fear you are exactly on point.

Lindblom is a declining center. His points totals have dropped almost 20 points the per season the past 2 seasons

I think it's better then 50/50 Michkov comes over this summer. Quite the glut at RW and I would assume it would take a lot to .move Tippett or Foerster in a trade. Something has got to give.

Now you know what chicago has been doing these past two years . The difference is the hawks have a lot of picks inthe first and seond rounds of this an next years draft.
My understanding is that it’s an agreement in principal(AIP). It’s non binding. Let the negotiations begin. I still think Michkov comes over next year at the earliest.

That is the danger with Torts. He can step on those delicate Russian toes. - THE EVIL WITHIN
After dealing with a Russian mobster as his coach and having is father possibly murdered, I would have a hard time believing Michkov is delicate in any way. I hope he has a good translator.
