I blame Nurse for taking the money. There is no doubt that Nurse and his agent pushed for the numbers, and that the team didn't just come out offering them. Selling the team on the fact they had no better options, and if they didn't pay up he would take his services elsewhere at the first opportunity. If you are going to push for the money, then you better hold yourself accountable for your performance afterwards. Its not like the team isn't giving him the opportunity to perform, he has just been absolute trash out there. Right now his contract is worse for the team than Campbells, and that says a lot.

Great of you to point out what most hockey fans can see. Nurse has been a huge disappointment in the playoffs. His decision making is at an all time worse, being on the ice with either McDavid or Draisaitl should ensure more points. He should be the one coming out for game 4, it might wake him up.
I wouldn’t put Perry back in unless I absolutely had no choice. Carrick has looked a lot better and doesn’t take stupid penalties. McCloud should never of come out, he’s played a good playoffs.

Holland blew his load early. He panicked and offered too muck $. So worried about losing a potential #1 D but as it turns out he’s a 4-5 defenceman.
Every team has bad contracts, GM’s get caught up in the moment. You can only hope the rumour of KH joining Columbus comes true.

Re: Nurse hate

1st goal: Bouchard loses the puck, Nuge can't clear the zone, Ekholm is actually running around playing his side and half of Bouchard's side (as usual), Bouch terrible battle, Skinner lets in a softie.

2nd goal: Bouchard and McDavid can't win relatively easy battles in the slot, Skinner can't freeze it, McD actually pushes it onto the Stars player's stick.

3rd goal: Carrick makes a bit of a dumb decision finishing his hit instead of backchecking. Desharnais facing pressure because of this and can't get the puck out of the zone, then his ultra slow pivot puts him under, gives player the lane...Nurse has to slide over to help close it. Ryan flyby when he's supposed to stop in the slot, Desharnais just dumb hockey in front...Skinner is just lost on this one, swimming everywhere.

4th goal: Ceci soooooo slow to get to the puck on the wall, Kane also no battle whatsoever to win it, DAL rims it around, Holloway too slow to the point, free shot, Drai bobbles it Ceci unreal terrible stick, no body, no nothing! Nurse is trapped between two DAL fwds there! Everyone blaming him but WTF is he to do? He's got to trust that Skinner can tighten up on the post and that the centreman (Draisaitl) isn't going to fly the zone and go to his man in front. Draisaitl leaves, turns the wrong way, and leaves Nurse and SKinner alone...and SKinner leaks a bad one.
Nurse did not so bad on this one I think.

Too much hate for Nurse in my opinion. He can do a lot better for sure, but it's a team game and there are so many breakdowns and I see Nurse and Ekholm running around trying to fill the holes. This team is lazy and has no grind.

Connor Brown was great on the PK when he played for the Sens. Couldn't score to save his life on all the short handed breakaways he created but I guess he's learned to dish it off any more. Happy for him.

Regardless, we are just celebrating the fact that he wasn't a dumpster fire for a game, and actually stood up a couple guys at the blue-line. Still can't say he played like a 9.25 mil D-man though, he should be a game changer for that price tag.
