Remember when Florida went up 3-0 in the series and some ignorant people claimed the playoff setup was flawed because Edmonton didn't deserve to be in the SCF?

Five finals series that I think were better than this one:

Montreal vs Chicago 1971
Philly vs Edmonton 1987
Montreal vs Calgary 1989
Rangers vs Vancouver 1994
Colorado vs New Jersey 2001

It’s crazy that these two teams are in the finals especially. 20, or even 10 years ago if you had said there was ever gonna be a panthers oilers final no one would believe you. Both these teams have a long history of bad hockey so I can’t think of two teams more deserving to be here.

In this salary cap era, good management and some good fortune can make any team a contender. That's the great thing about this league, even small markets have a chance.

Don’t be ridiculous!! First three games were all Florida and the last three were Edmonton! There is no war out there. No overtime games, no back and forth, no spectacular saves at both ends back and forth! Bob was great for a while and then disappeared. Skinner is junk and Oilers are doing everything they can to prevent a shot getting through. Occasionally Florida hits him with a shot and the accolades go up, what a save by Skinner! Are you kidding me. Florida had 2 shots on net in the 1st period of the last game. Greatest Cup final in 84 years…….gimme a break.

Remember during the Dallas-Vegas series someone said those were the two best teams in the West? I mentioned Edmonton and even Colorado might have something to say about that.

Remember when Oilers were down 0-3 and there was a flaw in the format? I mentioned that Florida and Edmonton finished with 110 and 104 points. Florida beat teams with 98, 109, and 114 points. Edmonton beat teams with 99, 109, 113 points. Basically they faced equally difficult paths. Edmonton was also the best team in the NHL since their early coaching change.

An Edmonton win tonight would be sweet justice to the eastern media who are usually misinformed.

Unpopular opinion: I'd rather McGroarty over Necas. Necas is overrated and too soft. The Guhle rumours are laughable.

Agreed, this has been one of the worse finals I've seen. Turned off half the games before they were over. Hopefully tonight's game is a good one.

This one is very good because of McDavid and Bobrovski and of course because of the comeback. But I wouldn't say it's the best ever. I think 1994, 2001, 2009 were all better but we haven't seen game 7 yet.

hasn't been a very excited final. the only thing that makes it memorable is the possible comeback collapse. other wise it has only been in Q'speak "ok"

Yeah, McDavid having arguably the best postseason of all time is pretty boring.

i think its sad that Game 5 was the closest game this series, and Florida didn’t show up the first half of the game, no game was a close game this series which made it kinda boring to be honest, i expected more close games and less blow outs

You are being ridiculous. Only 1 of those first 3 were "all Florida". The other two were winnable by Edm.

Why not add to the drama? The Panthers win the Stanley Cup, 4-3, on a double overtime goal by Carter Verhaeghe.

The best looking trophy in sports is coming hame! As long as buttman keeps his slimey fingers out of the game. Don't want to get FIFA'd again
