He's 27 and this is his UFA year. So notwithstanding any injuries, he should be motivated for that big contract. I would have liked to see a little retention for that 2nd rounder, but overall I think it looks like a positive trade for us.

i dont disagree with the retention thought. which is why im initially sad with the this trade. I want us to get more grit. When Chychrun was moved. i was hoping LA was balls deep into that trade. but also to acquire lawson crouse. it was a no brainer to target both. but yet. here we are. we are lucky we paid we less for jeannot than tampa did. but we have to hope he will do what he did in nashville vs what he did in tampa. but i really wanted our cap to go to anther LH dman. Byfield is still left unsigned. so this tells me bridge deal so kopi's new runs out. and extend byfield bigger. granted he progressses and earns it
