Hoping they are a little more active here on Saturday for a trade or FA.

Drafting Catton, what kind of position does that put Shane Wright in? On the wing? Trade chip?

That was what I wondered though he is a few years away too. If Wright struggles up the middle they are covered too so...

They keep stocking up talent though was surprised they didnt go a d man instead of a c out of the gate there.

Still have free agents coming too so who knows.

Draft C and D all day long. Guys that don’t make it in the middle can play on the wing easily enough. I like their first four rounds so far, haven’t been keeping up with the later picks though.

Saw Catton play a few times out here. He sort of reminds me of Logan Stankoven with a far better skating stride. He was a kid that got better every time I watched him. A very good skater and playmaker. Solid defense and excellent Hockey IQ. As mentioned by Sean, he needs to bulk up and hopefully have a late growth spurt.

Safe to say that 99% of the kids getting drafted ‘today’ need to bulk up before ever having a shot in the NHL. I like that they took players with a variety of strengths, that they took them from their backyard where they get many more viewings. Doesn’t hurt how many Canucks they selected and a 6’5” goalie doesn’t hurt either.
