Here’s a cover tune for ya. Aaron Neville signing Summertime.

Also, Oilers buyout Campbell.

Lightning acquire Guentzel's rights.

Personally, I would have gone balls out to re-sign Stamkos, within reason.

I would have offered either $7m per for 5 years, or $8.5m for 4 years. That is risky, but there is room on Robidas Island if necessary.

Briesbois lowballed Stamkos just like he did Palat and Killorn. I wasn't happy about those either, but understood the math and the cap demanded it.

I think Stamkos is not the same as Palat/Killorn and they should have tried harder to keep him.

Assuming Stamkos is gone, I like Guentzel overall, but the fanbase is going to see him as a consolation prize for losing Stammer - and frankly, I think Briesbois loses some of the fanbase on this one if it turns out to be the case. He will lose me and I was on the fence already after the Jeannot fleecing.

I heard that Guentzel was seeking $8-ish per, and that is Stamkos type money. Again, I get the math, so it's not out of left field. Guentzel is five years younger, and maybe his fancy stats are better than a declining Stamkos. But, this is going to go over like a lead balloon with the fanbase.

Edit : I admit I was wrong AF about Stamkos staying in Tampa.

Nah.

Domi’s good. You undervalue passion.

I don’t mind Domi, would like to see what he can do playing a full year with AM34. That said 4x4, hmmm. Would rather 3x3. Is he going to get 4x4 somewhere else?

Does this preclude Bert coming back... Obviously Klankburgs money is going to Tanev....

Pretty good on Domi. Clearly wants to be here and think he will be fine. Prefer him over Bert. Tanev isnt bad either really now just need a proven starter and another solid d there.

Yup, he actually gives a sh!t. Desperately needed on this team

4 x $3.75M is considerably less than I’d expected, and less than I suspect he could have gotten elsewhere
