I saw somebody who writes for a national outlet say Waddell's tenure in Columbus was off to a bad start and that Tulsky, despite having the job for about a month, is overrated and his GM career is a failure.

People are dumb as poop.

I mean if he is on the hot seat, couldn't he just hire a GM under him?

I believe like much have discussed in here previously. We are going to take a step back, probably trade a few at the deadline (like Ryan Wilson also stated). Then allow the young guys to come out and take over saving some cap space in the second half of the season. Possibly setting us up for a higher draft pick in next years draft who hopefully could come in and make an impact sooner.

With the cap space and hopefully some of the younger talent catching on for the lower lines. It would allow us to be players in Free agency next year and build up for hopefully one more run (with Draisaitl, Marner, Ekblad, Chychrun, Konecny, and others potentially available).

Just ridiculous. They signed him to a 7 year contract. No way FSG will pay him to not work for them for that length of time. Oh and Letang and Malkin have full NTC language. There was no prospect pool when he got here and i think he has done a nice job in the last year+ of building up WB/S. What he got for jake was a lot for a guy that was not going to resign there and the 2nd round pick would have become a 1st if the Canes got to the finals.

If someone would have told me that the pens could shed the contracts of petry, granlund and rutta and get EK65 gaining back $2M in cap space, i would have said 'no way'. Now if EK can get back to 75-80 points and the PP is middle of the pack, they are a playoff team. How many games did they lose by 1 goal when their PP went 0 fer?

I just watched Dangle on one of his shows and they were talking about how sid should play for the leafs. Enough already. If anything, Sid would play for Montreal if he wanted to be nostalgic. And yes, seeing him with Nate would be cool but what cap space do the Avs have? This is not a scenario where he played for 20 years and never got a cup, like Bourque. He is more Steve Y, Mario, Ovi, etc. He will resign with the pens. Maybe $10.87M for 3 years and finish with letang?

Sid should play for Carolina with Svechnikov on his wing.

Sid, McDavid, Bedard, Makar, Josi and Vasilevskiy all Leafs by 2025.
But also by then, Pierre-Luc DoNothing will have stopped skating for 3 more teams

I agree with all of this...except maybe the last part...not sure EK gets back there and that the PP will improve much. Also, will Sid and Geno have another full 82 game season at their ages? If they don't, especially Sid, I don't think even a middle of the pack PP gets them in the post season. It is possible that could all work out though, just not real confident in the chances of it.

Yeah its crazy how bad this dude is...I don't care about Biden (or Trump) digs by anyone but insufferable is a great way to put it/him.

How does this Kennedy guy not see what every other person with eyes does? It's not like Dubas is putting forth a complicated strategy.

I'd love to see Poulin on the 4th line if we manage to trade Acciari.
- Barnaby36

Nieto will start the year on IR so 4LW would be a fine spot for Poulin. But they got so many young guys for one starting spot I'm not sure what they are going to do. Definitely keeping 14 forwards.

I'll be curious to revisit this after Sid and Pettersson presumably sign extensions. I agree with the young guys potentially giving a boost in a year. I'm not sure how much cap space they will have cleared. Enough to add someone. But Pettersson will get a raise and DOC will either get one or be gone. There's just so much money still tied up long term.

Wait a minute RW. I agree Dubas is not on the hot seat because he is more than just the gm but to insinuate that he wasn’t hired with a cup in mind on the Front end with the old core is b.s. He wasn’t hired to win after a rebuild on the back end of his 7 yr deal. He traded for EK without a win soon mentality ? He just isn’t the wonder boy that he was made out to be .

No he traded for EK so 3-1 leads in the 3rd become 3-3 games and they are exciting during the rebuild.
