Olympic opening ceremonies are always so cringe

Just get AC/DC out there for each one until they die and call it a day

Too bad he doesn't get to do the TV play by play. Hate all of them except him.

This is the way. But isn't AC/DC done? The singer can't even hear anymore. Gee, wonder how that happened.

Celine is never a better choice. Unless it’s a most embarrassing Canadian contest.

I enjoy listening to these two..It's a shame that the Leafs are too cheap t have them travel and broadcast in person. Is it related to any health issues?

Imagine AC/DC playing the intro to thunderstruck for an hour and a half during the parade of countries and then as they light the Olympic flame pyrotechnics go off and Angus young sings you've been thunderstruck.

Repeatable perfection.

Still touring.

And it happened because of racing cars without ear protection apparently

John Tavares had a higher top speed in 2023-24 than in 2022-23. He had more speed bursts over 22 mph and a harder shot. It’s not an NHL Edge stat but his ice time also went up. Maybe it just was the powerplay that hurt his numbers, not age.

That and he’s in the final year of a long term deal, making it pretty damn common that he’s not as good as he was 7 years ago. He also landed 65P in a league where the average point production by a 2nd line C league wide is around 50P.

As Dozzer notes, there's a little of column A and a little of column B (the below is averaged out to an 82 game season to compensate for shortened seasons):

In Year 1 he had 10 PPG & 9 PPA and 88 Total Points
In Year 2 he had 9 PPG & 18 PPA and 78 Total Points
In Year 3 he had 9 PPG & 9 PPA and 73 Total Points
In Year 4 he had 10 PPG & 17 PPA and 79 Total Points
In Year 5 he had 18 PPG & 22 PPA and 82 Total Points
In Year 6 he had 9 PPG & 11 PPA and 67 Total Points

So this season his overall power play numbers were down a little from his average, but it more often that he had around 20-25 points on the PP than last year's 40 - that was the anomaly.

I think the eye test shows me that he is slower, he is defensively less capable and he is losing more one-on-one battles. I wonder how many of those speed bursts were trying to keep up with the offensive play and how many were trying to get back on defense.
