Jan Levine: Sam Rosen stepping down as Rangers' broadcaster after the 2024-25 season End of an era

As far back as this west coaster can remember Sam has been my favorite announcer -

Especially since center ice came along - I could always count on Rangers games @ 4 & Duck games @ 7 ….. perfect days … 🏄‍♂️🏄‍♂️🏄‍♂️🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻👍🏻👍🏻😃😃😃😃

Heck of a career. The scene of him and JD getting rushed out of the studio to city hall for the parade is a classic.

I’m a Flyers fan, but I have to give a huge shout out to Big Sam Rosen. The man is a legend, and I always appreciated watching Ranger games he called. All the best!!

I grew up listening to Phil Rizzuto doing Yankee games, Jim Gordon and then Sam doing the Giants, Marv Albert doing the Knicks and Sam with JD doing Rangers games. So many wonderful memories --- I wish Sam well but it is time to move on.

Fingers crossed that Kenny Albert gets to replace him --- would be a nice passing of the torch!

You should hope for Alex Faust. He used to do the Kings game till they booted him or some stupid reason.

Glad to hear Sam going out still on top. Really going to miss him, but Kenny or Don will be welcome.
Sam and JD have been there since I became a Rangers fan and it was crushing when JD left, even my wife was bummed. Hasn't been the same with Skippy (Joe) but he's not bad. Can't believe he's been here almost 20 years.

I second Fenrir. Sam and JD were my staple growing up for Ranger's games. Fond memories. Rare to have an announcer last this long who truly added to watching the games.
