Longing for the days when the Flyers would have multiple players in these lists.

MM should get there someday. Not sure they have another player that should get to the top 20 at there position.

Don't worry, in a few years when they get the cap space, they'll sign them.

Michkov is the hope. It would be a colossal tragedy if that doesn't happen. Agree on everyone else. Not one player in the system who seems to have that potential.

I mean Farabee has every chance to be as good as Konecny. He has a 30 goal 70 point ceiling.

You also have to remember we had league worst PP. You get this PP to middle of the pack around 20% and thats around 20 extra Powerplay goals. Thats going to improve some players stats a bit. Foerster also had a 20 goal rookie season. Im really high on him too.

Which IMO is directly related to the fact that we have no players in the top 20 except Konecny. I am also high on Foerster, I just don't see him rising to the level of a top 20 winger in the NHL. Farabee still has some more to give I agree.

Sure Farabee or Foerster could. I am not betting on it though. Hopefully I am wrong and they both get there.

I personally would put Carter Verhaeghe ahead of Konecny.

It’s not the players it’s the lists. The top 20 best locker room presence or the top 200 foot player that can’t score top 20 list.
Just a couple of examples.

Top players in the league that will be a russians best friend

Top players who will take a puck anywhere to block a shot

Top players who get their asses reamed by the head coach while the goal horn is still blaring

Top players who make one mistake and never see the ice again

these are the lists this roster excels at

I was thinking the exact same thing. He was really good in their SC run and has been very good in his role for a couple of years. I'm surprised TK made it to the list at all. Good for him, though.

I typically do not write on boards; I am a bit too busy with life. But I do spend time reading Bill’s post almost religiously and I do read through the comments. Bill Thank You for all you do! It is great to see your unbiased opinion and facts. Let me preface this by saying I am a Flyers fan, have been since almost the beginning, I’ve never played hockey other than a few pickup games in the 70s with my older brother (2am at some rink in Delaware I think). I have never played professional or college sports, as most fans haven’t. I am only a fan! I am looking for a new hobby so I figured maybe I would give this a try. (I think I’m a glutton for punishment). But anyway, you guys really crack me up! This is a list of the Top 20 Wingers in a league of 32 teams. Our team, we follow, has a player on this list. Some teams have two, but about half the teams have none. This is a GOOD THING! we should be happy about.

It's nice but I prefer to look at some different lists. Such as the standings or the list of Stanley Cup champs.

Im sorry but it has been made quite clear in here that you are not qualified to have an opinion on the sport. It is just the way it is. Our superiors have deemed it so. Feel free to post about other things hockey related however.

some i think are only happy when they are constantly complaining. To go on for months or years about how mediocre RR is, and torts is bad, and the old guard has too much influence, andwe are not in a rebuild....you can tell that complaining makes some people happy

not today, but the discussion is who on their current roster or in their prospect pool have a shot at being a top 20 player at their position. Foerster without a doubt has a shot and York does as well. I would say less of chance than Foerster, but he is a young puck moving two dman and he is already very good. Only thing holding him back would be not getting pp1 time. However, I do not think its crazy to believe he will be a top 20 dman in a couple of years. Remember he looked as good as he looked last yr on a team which is still finding their way.

The most hysterical thing is that those who actually use that, have no clue about who has played and who hasn't.

this chat is not any diff than other boards out there. Lack of objectivity on both ends. Both on the negative and positive side.

I have been shown the error of my ways. I now believe that RR is a quality defenseman who is a bargain at his cap hit. I believe Torts is an all time great coach who is just the man to lead us to a cup. I think the old guard, or as I will call them, The Experience Brigade, knows exactly how to build a cup winner in todays NHL, and that we never needed to be in a rebuild. Since I have never played the game except for street hockey, from now on I will only parrot opinions that are approved by the team and their real fans because what do I know? After all I am not Ken Hitchcock. All hail the Standard! We don't need to ever win a cup, that is not why we are here. We are here to post the right way about the team that plays the right way.

I feel so liberated.
