My daughter’s boyfriend played for a prep school in Pittsburgh. Right defence as well. A year younger than Fusco, but quite a bit bigger than this dude at 6’2”, 210.
Chose academics over hockey, though. Kid has big plans.

Sorry for not replying, poop ton of walking today, currently at 31.4km, 3rd time over 30 clicks in the last 5 days

Nobody is offering to a late second round pick with next to no nhl experience and who is obviously weak defensively an expensive deal, I’m not worried about it.

Try to remember the two oilers were 8th overall and 14th overall, not a late second rounder who was 53rd overall.

The Robertson the leafs have is the Nylander they signed to the Marlies when it comes to those brothers, he’s not Jason.

I’ve been doing a lot lately… the last 5 days

33km, 32.6km, 11km (yeah it was Sunday lol), 23.2km, and 32.6km at this point today

I was roughly 240lbs a year ago, just weighed myself and I’m 214.2lbs currently

Very nice man!!

I have gone heavy veggies, my share of various meat as well but neither with sauces or dressings… or god forbid melted butter lol

As for drinks I’m 75% water, but I enjoy a beer here and ther… oh hell it’s just I enjoy beer lol. Not sure if my meds play a roll when it comes to my digestion of things but for me it’s primarily just staying active.

Fusco isn't going to be an NHL player, but there are some decent defensemen who are under 6ft tall - Spurgeon, Krug, Grzelcyk, Girard, Hughes, Orlov, Fox are some examples - but you're right - there are just not many. To be a smaller d-man you have to typically be mobile in order to compensate for your *ahem* shortcomings. Outside of Orlov, who is built like a tank with another tank welded onto the tank that had been welded onto it, you wouldn't want any of these guys trying to staple guys to the wall or battle in front for position; they'd all end up on their ass.

The Dubas group once said that their analytics showed that size didn't matter - and they really leaned into that misinformation.

The way the team ends up changing in pre-season interests me. Still won’t be shocked if Robertson gets used, but for what? Cutting Reaves?

No they said it's easier to get size than it is skill so they drafted skill...constantly. Then never transitioned to get the size. Their original idea is correct, they just failed to execute beyond it.

If I'm not mistaken he was referring to physicality not size. He felt that they would draft high-end skill that all teams would clamour for and they would trade that abundance of skill for other teams' physical players as required.

I recall that statement because it did not come to fruition at all.

Hoping for a guy with nothing more than an AHL contract to make the team is very wishful
