A hockey related comment that the Oliers are a disgusting organization for hiring a man complicit in covering up one sexual assault that subsequently led to 2 other sexual assaults.
Class act through and though.

So the author has recognized the tagline for Bowman was juvenile. Has done some self-reflection. Has changed his ways. Interesting. I shall give a second chance...

Nope. Still have the exact same feelings but want to avoid people like you commenting like this in every blog.

Every single opinion expressed in here has zero effect on the Oilers and the organization.
So have at it.
The on ice performance is all that matters, and Edm will be a top team this year. Defense will definitely be addressed before playoffs.
I'll be patient to see what comes down eventually. No need to panic.
Holland never panicked, I loved that about him. We'll see how Bowman operates.

So, onto hockey. A 2nd or 3rd is light for a young NHL RHD. Trotz won't give Fabbro away even if he slides down the lineup.

Bottom line Bowman is your GM if you’re an oiler fan just accept it. Ya’ll have a bad ass team ,great chance at winning another cup ! Sit back and enjoy watching McDavid every night.

Important to remember Fabbro is a pending UFA after this season which does lower his value. Preds extended a similar style player in Carrier but not Fabbro. At least says something about how the team/player feel about their situation.

None of this is a done deal, for now we are simply talking about what the Oilers need and if these picks are what the Preds would consider fair return.

Still he's a young RHD, he'll get a decent return in season or at the TDL. They'll be teams bidding on him.

We all know the first trade he'll make is getting Saad.
Right now he's just wondering if offering Connor, Leon, Bouch and a 1st is enough to get it done.

In all seriousness, just wondering about what's happening with Drai extension. I figured Jackson had it basically done, would hand the reins to to Bowman and let him look like a hero early on for getting the deal made.

Side note: Our head office for work is in Burnaby and we have to sign in remotely. But they just made us all change our passwords and set things up again. Our IT gets told what it is just in case, just waiting for the response because mine is lolCanucks2024

Most bloggers on the site do opinion pieces. This is the beer league of hockey news. While you get some talented players come through (Strickland, Yost, Engels, Carol, etc.), they usually move up to play in a better league when the opportunity presents. As long as the blogs here are higher than the bars set by the likes of Cloutier, Tanner, and Garf, all is good.

His record with his back against the wall (up against the cap) is pretty hit and miss. Most of the vitriol aimed at him (for his GM'ing) is based on giving up more than he is receiving. Ultimately, the S. Jones deal will likely end up a wash in overall talent (depending on how Jiricek pans out). The problem was that he basically gave up two first rounders and a second to do so.

The trades just never seemed to end up even. Still shake my head at giving up a 2nd rounder for what was left of Kimmo Timonen in 2015.

He certainly could have learned since being away for a little bit, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned.

Thought he was talking about your tagline you said you would write every time you mentioned Bowman. That was idiotic. Your feelings about Bowman are your own . Pretty sure he didn’t think that changed after self reflection . Damn good team he inherited. Might make him look really good in the future.

There's 11 teams that don't have a blogger. At most only a dozen teams on here have regular bloggers. The site COULD be great with how loyal many commenters are, but the lack of effort is disappointing to say the least.

I would recommend keeping the dialogue respectful.

I try. But you keep having posters telling me on here how Bouchard isn't a legit top pairing dman so I can't respect an opinion I find to be more worthless than used toilet paper.

Of course. It's the end of August, not much going on and he is a player that I could see the Oilers interested in. Something worth discussing the merits of.

Young Stars coming up in Penticton soon, EDM, CAL, WPG, VAN. Always a good tournament. Town is full of NHL people. Games are reasonable.

Leon Draisaitl has set a Sept 19th deadline to get a deal done as he doesn't want to negotiate during the season.

Draisaitl has been travelling. He arrives in Edmonton this weekend. Pretty certain Bowman will line up a couple of casual dinners to reiterate the vision for the franchise. Wouldn't be surprised if McDavid joins them. Deal should be done within a couple weeks.

I dunno why I thought his agent tried pulling the "Deal done by the end of August or we know where we stand and you don't really wanna keep him" type threat heading into the summer.

Yep, they'll wine and dine him and then make him the highest paid player in the NHL.
