Zak MacMillan: RIP Johnny Gaudreau

This is absolutely crazy. He just started a new family. Unbelievable.

They were there because their sister was getting married today... That's incredibly sad. I can't imagine how their families are feeling. My condolences to everyone who knew them.

Local station, WPVI, confirmed what happened (1). The Gaudreaus were riding bikes on Country Route 551 in Oldmans - which is like farmland, so not much in the way of lighting or room beyond the road - on the side of the road. A Jeep was behind a sedan and a SUV. The Jeep passed the sedan but the SUV moved to the middle of the road since they saw the bikers. The Jeep then decided to pass the SUV on the right and hit the bikers from behind. The deaths were from the injuries from the hit. The driver was found under the influence of alcohol and has been charged with two counts of death by automobile.

God's grace be with the family and the CBJ. What a snakebit organization, two of these tragedies in 3 years. Will be doing a lot of praying today.

I hope and pray that if the guy who did this was drunk (and it seems he was by how the accident happened) I hope he turns his life around, hopefully he will get treatment for his drinking problems while he's serving hard time for this.

I dont think they confirmed the driver under the influence, every article I read says he was suspected of being under the influence. All this because someone couldnt wait a few extra seconds. People drive so carelessly as if they arent driving a giant death machine.

One of the saddest days in modern pro hockey history. An absolute American great and superstar taken from us in his prime. A father, a husband, a brother, and an athlete. Our athlete
