Puckpedia shows Blues having $ 1,267,792. They will get 6.5 from ltir. So they 7.7 mil in cap space . As per Krug himself no hockey player has ever had a successful comeback from this type of injury. Terrible break for Krug , he can hold his head high , an undrafted free agent carved out a nice career. Here’s to hoping he can at least have normal life after the surgery!

Think I speak for everyone in Philly when I say - thank you for not wanting to come here.

Why didn't he have this surgery in the Spring?

So he can get paid, and not have to do anything.

hoping the answer isnt he wanted to give it the old college try to recoup with therapy over the summer and then finally decided it was not working. So the Blues had to go through free agency not really knowing what his intentions are. These players (see Johansen) need to be held accountable.

Not going to happen with the current CBA. Gives players almost full leverage to use LTIR however they want. Every single NHL vet can claim "progressive pre-arthritis" just like any manual labor worker. But almost no other manual labor worker gets guaranteed contracts.

How would the blues feel about ryan graves? The pens may attach a 2nd round pick for taking him off their hands.

The other explanation for Krug's declining play is because this is usually what happens by your 30's. He's been in decline for several years now.
