There is an obvious need for DRWs to be a more physical team. If Ny-guy can do that with that being on the 4th line or taking Fish's spot on the 3rd is what they may wish to test.
ASP is good where he is. He would need to be "protected" too much in NA right now.

You’re right on both counts. Physicality is an issue and whatever the conversations were must have leaned toward that. Interested in how they end up deploying him in preseason (how many of the games etc). ASP for sure could get crunched and that’s what I’m wondering. Apparently he needs some avacados

ASP is smaller and playing a position where mistakes are amplified. He'll get more playing time and more important playing time where he is than he would in GR. Let him physically develop for another year, and he may bypass GR, or he may use a year there to adapt to the NA game.

MBN is bigger, more physically developed and there are more options at wing to ease him into the NA game. Defensemen don't have that option. I think their plan is good and it certainly doesn't mean Det is down on ASP. He's a very important part of their future. Every great team needs a QB and he's going to be it.

It's being streamed for free on DetroitRedwings.com tonight

I'll probably watch it on: https://v3.nhlwebcast.com/

NHL Webcast... has all NHL games streaming for free.

I agree with where you’re at. It’s an off comparison, but looking back at Rafalski. He essentially used his speed to make up for what he may have lacked in statues. Also said to have a very tippable shot. New day, the big guys can skate. You have to bulk up to some degree. Some of these kids are scary strong at an early age

As Wings fan residing outside of USA, I am befuddled by discussions about streaming platforms. Why so much concern over which service is showing tonight's game?

For a single, extremely low-price, we have access to all streaming services (Disney, Ballys, Prime, ESPN, etc) and networks (NBC, HBO, etc) via IPTV. (IPTV provider apps come preinstalled on devices/TVs). Simply turn the TV/device on and say "Wings live" and within seconds I have multiple streaming options available (home, away, league, individual cameras, etc)

Are similar services still not available in Michigan/USA?

I’m not sure if you’re in Europe, but there is a 5 service bundle with a very low price compared to what’s available here. If you’re near Detroit, you can’t do the ESPN3 package without a VPN so you need streaming for Bally’s, ESPN, TNT, ESPN3 and ABC. Hulu is combining with Disney and ESPN will combine for streaming but the cost structure is way different. It could be around 100 - 130 to get the full bundle once ESPN jumps over.
