I agree with a lot of your predictions. While I think Malkin is still a great player and can pass up his point total from last season what I would like to see even more is less critical mistakes - less turnovers at the point on PP, less bad penalties, etc.

If Dubas is going to trade Pettersson and Eller he really needs to be sure that he is getting back good pieces that will help with a retooling/rebuild, and not just trade them because he thinks "he has to". The Pens do not really have comparable replacements, which means that the team could bottom out in the following season with the defense getting even worse.

What is the prediction on Graves? Is he actually going to live up to his contract this season?

What do you want to discuss? I'm excited to see how we look in an actual game.

Tojo.

Smith is going to look great tonight, no question. He's in a contract year, rested, motivated, etc. I expect if he can stay healthy he'll light it up for the first month or two ... the question is whether he can keep that up or if he's cooked.

Brunicke's emergence has to put an EK trade on the table before next season. We could retain a lot to get max return given how cheap St.I + Brunicke are on the right side.

Looking forward to seeing how the bottom 6 looks tonight. There's definitely more energy and skill there than in recent years.

Who would be your second pair guy? I'd think you'd want to shelter Brunicke to start so St. Ivany? Maybe, see how this year goes.

Haha you need other people for that. I work evenings so I DVR and watch later and not doing a meal then.

@Tojo, yeah see how it goes but a RD of 58, St.I, Brunicke could work if they find a good deal for EK. They'd need to upgrade the left side though. Just something they have to consider now: with Brunicke coming next year and St.I looking good, an EK trade might make sense and provide some good value if they retain salary.

Or maybe they trade Tanger to Montreal....especially if Geno decides to hang them up or move on after this season...

100%. I'm rarely here for games. Gives me something to look forward to after work and skip the intermissions.

Rangers lineup is out. Rempe is a healthy scratch. Played a speedy skill guy over him. Fire Sullivan.

Just made some carnita tacos while I wait for the hurricane to knock my power out right before the game starts so I can't watch it.
