Gibson is a complete liability on that contract and Edmonton doesn't have cap space for him without sending bad money going back to Anaheim. Seems very risky to make such a decision so early in the season.
Edmonton was arguably the fastest team in the league last year. They might not be as fast as last year, but they're still showing up well in mobility metrics.

I believe he was referring to Colorado and Gibson.

Saying Avs could use a bonified nhl starting goalie is like saying UHC needs an actual club name.
I suspect that Avs issues are magnified by the simultaneous absences of Toews, Nitchushkin, Drouin, Lehkonen, & Landeskog.

Point would remain for Colorado. They have a lot of players on IR and would need to manage the cap to acquire Gibson.
