Getting boring at this point. New Era of Orange needs to self reflect and start to wonder why they are currently the best at being the worst.

Not the easiest time to be a writer for the team.

What the hell positive is there to cover? They have one piece worth a damn, in Michkov - and they are scratching him tonight.

PHLY, and STG have become nothing but mouthpieces for the team.

They'll never reflect as long as behinds are in the seats and merchandise is bought.

This franchise, and a large number of its fans, are far too happy living in the past, and that's still working well for them.

I honestly don't believe the wake-up call ever comes, unless their next superstar (Michkov, or whoever it may eventually be) says screw this and turns down the crazy contract offer because he wants to win.

Is it? His play has dipped considerably. He is often invisible during games except for his mistakes. Kid seems tired.

I cant say I dont worry about how MM will take this. Last thing we need is him wanting out.

Well the silver lining is their incompetence is solidifying a top 5 pick. I certainly expect a bumpy ride of development with Michkov. However, I cannot believe Michkov sitting so Deslauriers can play 5 minutes is what is best for development. I'm sure the locker room certainly believes sitting Michkov for Deslauriers helps them to beat TB.

I make no secret I want a top 5 pick in this draft. The Torts effect in year 3 only helps that desire.

Michkov may need a little load management. He has never played this many games before and seems to be falling off. Its a long season and I think it would be good for them to give him a night off here and there anyway. Now if it becomes a recurring thing then I will have a problem with it.

I know, I cant believe it either.

I hope Torts alienates Michov to the point he demands a trade or he'll go back to Russia.

I think Torts actually has had a long leash with him. He's been dreadful in the d zone.

It seems like a punishment to me. I’d just let him work through it. Last thing we want is for him to lose confidence etc. there have been players who have been worse and not sit.

I'm in town visiting a friend I used to play hockey with so of course they scratch him the one and probably only time I'm in Tampa.

Have you come out from under the bed since Tuesday?

He’s understandably distraught with the recent play by the Flyers. Perhaps also the passings of Quincy Jones or Phil Lesh.

Can’t think of any other recent newsworthy events.

Rippin through like a maelstrom, PT. Not sure anyone else saw your seminar on the locked thread, but I watched it unfurl.

Wow, Michkov scratched. Guess we all knew it was coming. I’m sure the coach provided him no reason and the team made no effort to help the kid understand why; making the whole exercise pointless. From what I’ve read he’s dealt with similar irrational treatment from the coach/owner in the KHL. Can’t imagine he’ll bark back at Torts.

But the Flyers have plenty of another middling superstars you can watch. Honestly some of them should have been scratched way before MM.

Yep, I don't think he will dress for the game and the flyers will not be flying in a goalie.
