I cannot see Crosby wasting the last 3 yrs of his career playing meaningless hockey games. He is too competitive for that. Already 2 straight yrs of no playoffs with this being his 3rd. By the time Pens even sniff a playoff berth he will be in his 40s. He is the one asset that Pens have that will bring back a good return. I see a mutually agreed upon separation. As far as EK goes he is no tradeable. 10M cap hit for 2 more yrs Pens would have to retain 50% and add draft picks to unload him.

I think if you're Crosby you can wait until next trade deadline (march 2026) to consider moving to a contender. See what happens.

I love how this is the first comment on this blog, from a Rangers fan, when in the blog itself it was said "we still have people catering to the lowest common denominator talking about potential trade destinations for him. He signed an extension two months ago. It takes a special kind of stupid or the superpower of not feeling shame to be bringing something like that up when the ink has barely dried on the contract" hahahah

Why are you so obsessed with the Penguins, old man?

Detroit has been rebuilding for as long as I can remember at this point and they still suck.

Crosby didn’t think it would be this bad, no way. “Lowest common denominator” is just language used by people that were never smacked around by their fathers for being morons.

Ponomarev is back up and Joel Blomqvist went to WBS. Not much of a surprise in either case

You post way more here than you do in the Rangers blog. You are totally obsessed with the Penguins.

Sorry to disappoint you but not so. Whats there to be obsessed about its a trainwreck. Curious though what 87 decides to do. His moving on would play a major impact on playoffs

I said yesterday how if the Penguins got a good draft pick and therefore a young NHL player plus a big fish forward in free agency, the Penguins forwards could technically retool and be competitive again.

The bigger problem is defense in terms of players and how they play. You are losing Pettersson and none of the other 6-7 guys around the NHL roster play solid defense. You almost will need to rebuild the entire defense with an aging Letang and Karlsson. Pickering wont solve the problem, even if he is NHL ready.
