Unless they find a sucker to take Kane or Nurse...that's going to be tough to compete for the cup.
That doesn't even take in consideration when McDavid's contract is up in two years, starting 16m per? |

In a turn of poetic justice. All the media/fan favorite teams will overpay for guys who have not won anything and stretch themselves too thin.
With the cap jumping next year and likely next, Tampa will be buyers with their cost control core and remain a cup contender for 3 to 5 more years.
No team was hurt more by success and the Covid cap crunch, stripping away valuable depth.
Now they are in a position to reload and add pieces.
I know the media hates them, which makes me like it even more. |
