Hmmm...a hot commodity I don't know; for all it's worth the Habs should probably keep him. He was not a hot commodity in Florida and also Pittsburg. The weak defence in Montreal pulls him up to one of their better defencemen and that is not saying a lot. Montreal has a lot to move rather than Matheson |

I think we may see some musical chairs here. Connecting the dots from past rumours…
LA wants to bring back Alec Martinez (and Shesterkin).
So then LA ships out Gavrikov to Montreal.
So then Montreal ships out Matheson to one of these 8 teams.
I could see NYI getting Matheson since they have been linked to almost every d-man this year – Risto, Provorov, Matt Benning, Byram. Time is slipping away on playoff hopes for all of these teams so something might happen soon.
