Winners win, and losers lose. The scoreboard tells you the answer: USA is better and both are not as good as Sweden. |

I think you've got it exactly right when you say selfish players. This seems to be one of the first age groups where over-involved parents (dads), selfish attitudes, and the "little Billy" attitude started, and it's only getting worse. When we played youth hockey it was all about team, and today it's all about ME, and skills development, and how many likes and follows on their IG account. There are friggin' 10yr olds with sponsors right now (I'm looking at you Cwench). The kids aren't learning to play the game anymore, there are far less power skating sessions, battles, scanning, hockey IQ, playing as a team...it's all about individual skills, and it's showing in a rather ugly way.
It's pretty obvious watching this year's Canada team that these boys have grown up in a hockey culture of "me first", and it shows in their play. They come in over the line 3-on-1 and take a low percentage shot. They come in 1-on-3 and try the hero play to toe drag through three guys. They have supplanted work ethic, grind, grit, passion, for highlight plays and GOALS...GOALS...it has to be ME scoring GOALS! lol
These boys are playing exactly how their Dads want them to play, to "get noticed", to get exposure...and it shows in their lack of a team atmosphere.
Now...go and watch Team USA chanting "oh mama don't you cry"...

Leaving Beckett off the roster.... In a litany of stupid decisions... that ranks right on top by a mile. |

lack of "Players" who play for the team, lack of coaching, selecting players who were special and selected not because they play the game hard and stick to the plan |

Well the Gm down to the coaching staff is responsible for the make up of this team...a lot of entitled kids just like the Us but its the make up of the team, the culture, being role players, accepting to play differently and of course the old boys club again leading the pack...watch out Team Canada at the 4 nations...going with players that should be there starting with Crosby and Marchand and who Montenbault...I guess to please the Québec crowd...what a mess but we asked for it!!! |

Some true stuff about hockey culture in Canada (which is disgusting). I think the problem is much more simple. These guys aren't good enough. |

sounds like what youth baseball and basketball has turned into in the US. memememememe and jerkoff parents. makes me worry about the future, look at how bad NBA has gotten from that exact same situation.

Coaching is atrocious. Hockey Canada didn't invite the best players to camp, forget the team. Zero discipline.
The only question remaining is if Czechia beats them - which they probably will - does this go down as the worst WJC team Canada has sent in recent memory? I would argue yes. |

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking while watching it. The Canada coach must have gone to Edmonton Oiler school of coaching - playing the same players every other shift. It's not a team. Need to select a roster in order to roll 4 lines, 3 at a minimum. Luchanko's ice time is mostly PK. And during the Latvia game he produced offense from playing stout defense and scored on a breakaway. Then, the shootout he doesn't get a chance ? He had already beaten this goalie !
Against USA, his shifts were so far apart I don't know how he could get any rhythm at all in the game. As a coach, you are paralyzing a third of your bench coaching this way. Everyone has to be involved so everyone feels like they're contributing. And if your top 6 is NOT producing points, why does rolling them out there more help anything? Give other people on the roster a chance to prove themselves, it is why they were picked right ?

hmmm...I'm thinking these two mentalities don't add up. |

You got me there. I was agreeing with the other poster on how the coach manages the bench, vs. who got selected. You are definitely spot on there. There are elite players on the team, and those are the ones getting lopsided ice time. If you watch teams like the Florida Panthers/Bruins/Carolina, they roll 4 lines and everyone contributes, not just on special teams or garbage time.

I’m not the type to sit down and play for hours on end, but Block Blast is perfect for my quick gaming sessions. I can play it during my coffee break or while waiting for the bus. The game’s straightforward mechanics make it easy to jump into, and I don’t feel stressed when I’m playing. Plus, the vibrant graphics make it so much fun to look at. It’s the perfect mix of casual and engaging. I can just relax and enjoy it without having to think too hard.
