Simply out-talented.
We harp on Chiarot & Holl but Chiarot had his back toward an on-rushing opponent twice, both ended up in the net, GA. Holl did ittonight; everyone coallpsed to Lyon's left leaving the right dot down wide open; GA. The issue was the entire team was fixated on the puck vs the open ice. This happened a few nights ago as well. When we post-up, keep O-dudes in sight the D does well. When we do.....we don't. And we got torched for it. Must fix this.
Nice to see Kasper score. As he gets his sea legs under him, he's going to be a solid player. We need legit D help, desperately. I'm not pissed, we just got out-played by better teams with more talent. We can win on any given night, I present FLA as exhibit A, your Honor. We just don't have the gas to do it with the current roster. We WILL get there, gang. There's some good talent in the "A", hella good talent in the NCAA & SHL.
I wanted to see this team improve, and honestly it is. Biggest issue was behind the bench - fixed it. There's some guys we may be stuck with until the end of the season. And they do need to go, no doubt. I keep telling myself it'll get better, but yeah - it's frustrating. The Todd Father's got his hands full, but he's a smart dude, Yawney's no slouch but needs to have a good roster to play his style. It's going to get better. It's going to get BETTER. It's going TO GET BETTER!! |
