Unpopular opinion: if Allvin and Rutherford decide to blow up the team, you have to trade Quinn Hughes. What he could bring back would be worth more in the long run, plus he probably wouldn't stick around for a full/proper rebuild.

It may happen as the last move because you know they will hang on until forced. Anyway if we head into that direction get ready for a decade of apathy because fans don’t do well with drafting and waiting on who and what may work out. Look at the Hawks who got everyone they wanted for a rebuild. They take a long time and no guarantees. Look at the Sabres.

I don’t think they should make panic moves over a set back season. Lots going wrong. The decision now should be see where they are before the TDL and sell the UFA’s first.

Sell a core player only if it’s the right deal. Don’t give them away for nothing just to get them off the team. The contract space does nothing for the remaining season. You need that in the off season. Which is why I get them into looking into options but I don’t think they make a core player trade that is not a UFA until the off season.

Yes why don’t make emotional decisions on trades. Seasons can change from year to year for many teams. It’s the reality of today’s NHL. Lots of things have to go right to have success.

But also remember the Canucks after that all star break high skidded into the playoffs. So they can ramp up their play after this 4 nations break and even have a better outcome then last season.

For example. Last season they owned the Oilers. This season they didn’t but then the playoffs can be different.

They just have to make the playoffs. No cushion and behind it now but it’s not over even with the emotions surrounding the team. There are games to be played and the talent is there to do it.

If anyone thinks trading one player for some massive return is going to solve things, you're wild. They aren't getting a good return. The roster is so flawed at a number of positions. Gonna have to break this thing down and build up again.

He is probably the 3rd best player on the planet behind Mcdavid and Draisaitl. You could argue he's the 2nd best. Keep him and Marky just went down for 4 to 6 weeks so here's my deal and I'm a genius.

Miller and Demko with 50 percent retained on Demko this year and next for

Mercer and Nemec

Demmer at 2.5 for a year and a half is great for the devils
