Good win although they did get some luck with Tampa missing some wide open nets.

So glad to see Soderblom in the NHL again and they need to keep him up. I just wish they played him in the top 6 instead of playing him with 4th liners. Wings need some size in the top 6. I would also like to see him as a front net on the PP but with their PP doing well i get why they wouldn't change it.

I think Petry is done playing in the top 4 on defense. He's going to have a tougher time getting ice time for the rest of the season unless there's some injuries. Johansson has taken his job... and the team is better off for it. Nice to see Kasper still producing points. Wonder if and when he's actually going to play center again... which is what this team really needs. He was drafted as a center... but he can play wing as well. This team is going to need some more toughness and sandpaper if they're going to actually win a playoff series against a team like Tampa.

Good to see Soderblom back in Detroit and getting some ice time. He keeps getting good scoring chances... pretty soon some of those will go into the net. Yzerman will extend him if he keeps playing well. He looks very comfortable out there.

That was a real a$$hole move by Kucherov to trip Rasmussen on the empty net goal. Totally unnecessary. I lost respect for him. He should get a suspension or fine for that... since it was done with malicious intent. Just watch the video replay.

The last trip was malicious for sure. No reason. I wrote that DOPS should look at it, but they won’t. Larkin had his neck broken by Benn and they didn’t do even a fine on that play a couple years back. Ras had to be helped to the locker room with a guy on each side.

For sure some luck, plus a shot off the pipe. I’d like to see size up top but love that Raymond still mixes it up.

I updated the article with footage of Rasmussen’s empty net goal and the trip. Removed commentary for copyright since I’m posting on multiple platforms. Take a look and decide for yourselves. Personally feel it was unnecessary and was going to be called a penalty but the puck went in. You can see Ref’s arm go up. Hoping Ras is ok

Also unnecessary because any penalty on a breakaway to an empty net results in an automatic goal! Kuch was being very vindictive and petty.

I agree, he’s getting off Scott free the same as Benn. In a token gesture, Lilleberg will have a hearing for his hit on Compher. Not near as big a loss to the lightning.
