How do you cut people? Do you mean buyout? Waive to minors?

I liked the doppelganger series more. Still waiting for the final installment of that one.

TRADE: Owen Tippett

Kid will never be what the Flyers thought he would be when signing him to that ridiculous (term-wise) contract.

KEEP: Tyson Foerster

The one kid on the team that can be a contributor now, and for the future.

CUT: Jamie Drysdale

Since cutting every coach in the organization isn't an option, might as well cut Drysdale as he won't reach his potential here. Instead of having the freedom to take risks and generate offense, he'll need to play "the Flyers way," and I have serious doubts he can do that mentally or physically.

One player you would TRADE… Rasmus Ristolainen. Because he makes too much money for what he provides and at the moment seems to be somewhat sought after by other teams, especially if the Flyers retain. Honorable mentions are Scott Laughton, Nick Seeler, Garnet Hathaway and Ryan Poehling.
One player you would KEEP…. Cam York. His underlying numbers are excellent and I think he will be a solid 2nd pair Batman for years. Honorable mention for Tyson Foerster.
One player you would CUT... Nick Deslauriers. He is not worth his cap hit or roster spot for only playing minimal games, and minimal minutes when he isn't a scratch.

I personally wouldnt cut Deslaurier. You can simply send him to the minors and his full cap comes off the books. Not to mention he only has 1 year left on his deal. Much bigger fish to fry than Deslaurier IMO.

I believe its strictly just get rid of. Its pure fantasy so it doesnt matter that the NHL doesnt allow cutting players

Yeah, I was operating much more in a reality based scenario. If it were purely fantasy I would cut Couturier.

This is tricky for me. Mine would be based off 2 areas. If Coots can be traded

Trade - Tippett. He isn't what I think the Flyers need but he gain gain assets.

Keep - Cates - He's a great role player with great skill in that area of the game

Cut - Coots - Sorry but he's past his prime

Keep: Foerester. The guy seems to be developing in to a really good well-rounded player. I’ve read where some hockey people have compared him to a young Mark Stone. If he even comes close to that as his career progresses, the Flyers would be really fortunate.

Trade: where do I begin? Laughton and Risto for sure. Neither of them fit in to the future. The ROOM will be just fine with veterans like TK, Coots, and Sanheim to lead. They both have some decent trade value it seems, and the Flyers need to start making space for the youth.

Cut: Start with the entire coaching staff. I wouldn’t buy anyone out, just let their contracts expire. Don’t extend anyone over 30 at this point.

I took the cut part to mean that they are no longer with the team, no cap hit etc

But I could be wrong

I would trade Scott Laughton because he is a bargain priced, aging bottom 6 forward who leadership and intangibles are no longer needed by the Flyers, but will be valued but other teams, thus the Flyers can get a decent return for him.

I would keep Tyson Foerster. I think he can be as good or better than a player like Boldy from Minnesota.

I would like to cut Couts but that will be impossible the remaining money on his contract. So more realistically I would cut Deslauriers since at best he might get back a 7th round pick. If there are no takers, the Flyers can waive him and bury most of his remaining money in the AHL or buy him out.

York's underlying numbers are completely misleading as are Sanheim's. They don't come close to matching the eye test. York is underachieving and I would move him for the right deal versus extending him.

I did originally have buyout trade extend. But I thought keep trade cut was a cooler way to go with it. Then again I’m not very cool.

Yeah, as I said, in another reply, I originally had trade extend buyout. But I thought keep trade cut was more like the original FMK….. and I thought it was cooler but I’m not very cool so I’m probably wrong

Honestly, I’m kind of surprised that people wanna trade Tippet… he’s been pretty good, of course, the injury this year hurts, but when you think about it, the best cliff let your trade probably ever was getting a first round draft pick and tippet from Florida for Giroux. I know for a fact that you’re only wanted to go to Florida….somehow they managed to get way more than they should’ve in my opinion

This bothered me as well at the time. The only thing I could think of is Florida didn't know that they were the only team Giroux wanted to go to. Giroux lost me as a fan BTW when this happened. Even Ray Bourque near the end of his career was willing to go to a few teams, giving the Bruins GM at the time Harry Sinden leverage. Fletcher got a good return on this deal, but I wonder if Colorado and Minnesota were truly in on the deal if Fletcher might have done even better.

so the player that flahr drafted, who you have lauded his drafts in the past is, underwhelming and should be sent out for the right deal

I remember the good ol days of people like you saying chuckles was super smart for picking york AND brink instead of Caulfield
