Zak writes a lot of good stuff and works hard to get things right, I appreciate his work the last few years as the CBJ guy here.

However, I see no way Provorov and Olivier are traded unless someone heavily overpays for one or both of them. Both fill important roles on the team, and have had great seasons.

Further, I really do not see how anyone on the list is a help specifically to the CBJ, especially if they are a rental. This is a young team everyone left for dead before the start of the season, and they have a higher ceiling than just being a wildcard team in 2025. Unless someone on that list I overlooked is young, with term, and is willing to commit to the CBJ for the long haul, let them go somewhere else. The CBJ can save the $$ for the Free Agency signing period and get the pieces they need to be a threat to win the Cup int he coming years.

Columbus, Detroit, NYI, Boston.

Those 4 teams could be buyers. Or could be sellers. I expect all will wait until right near the deadline to see what the standings look like.

Dobson is absolutely not someone they "must unload". Sure, I'd move him for the right return but he is not the problem with this roster. Pulock has a full NTC, so I wouldn't get your hopes up unless he wants out
