Jan Levine: Adam Fox to miss several weeks, no word yet on K’Andre Miller
Rangers’ D take a big hit… - airjan23
Hey Jan just want to say thank you so much for your dedication to us. Really appreciate all the work you do. The name calling and personal attacks really need to stop. It’s disrespectful AF to Jan most of all. Just have some common decency. We don’t have to see eye to eye on the state of our beloved sports team but geeez the line has been crossed way too often around here. We all have moments where we react on impulse because of frustration with the team but never towards each other. Do yourselves a favor and have some self control if you disagree with someone’s point of view. I don’t understand how we got here as a fanbase on this blog. This was always a great place to come discuss the state of the team and find commonality. I have been coming on here since like 2007. Never seen such animosity towards each other |

Sometimes the "Next Man Up" ethos can have a galvanizing effect on the group as a whole. We saw it a little last year when Fox was injured but since the team was already in solid shape in the standings it wasn't as impactful.
If (big ?) this team buys into this mentality and they fight themselves back into playoff position, that can go a long way of setting the tone. Let's be honest, the Rangers have avoided injury ravaged seasons with this core. Maybe this is a chance to find some inner strength and exploit it. |

Yep agree here. Honestly recently I found some new discords to talk Ranger hockey with other fans. I don’t want to leave here but it’s just miserable reading the fighting daily. |

I legit hate when TJ says trade Fox but never get the point where I feel the need to attack him personally. We all want what’s best for this team at the end of the day. Sure debate about what direction you want them to go in. But truth is the personal attacks are more of a reflection of who you are as a person than anything else.
Anyway trade deadline is fast approaching. I think the consensus on here for most of us is that we shouldn’t be giving away assets this season. Anyone else think Carolina moves Raantanen again? |

Unfortunately it’s the same 50 plus year old men acting like they are 12. Weird behavior and too much time on their hands.
Talk hockey and agree or disagree on things. That’s what makes it fun. People take it personal. Sad. |

They kind of have to trade him if they can’t lock him down. Should be interesting. I still think the rangers should move smith and Lindgren. But with the injuries on defense just don’t think they do now. Othmann can cover for smith on the 3rd line |

It’s crazy how Carolina really used to be the model franchise you wanted to emulate when it comes to rebuilding the right way. Now they are just losing assets left and right for players to just leave for nothing.
I think this is going to be the best opportunity that Jones is going to get with Fox out to really prove himself. We shall see what he does. |

No Fox = no bueno.
Stay the course Drury and trade the UFAs for draft capital and entertain trading Key, as well for better draft picks and/or a forward.
Please surprise us with a trade we weren't expecting, too. Last few TDL days have been boring. |

Mcdavid may actually be available. I think Eichel and Marner test FA though as well.

Key is in a non-contact at practice today, JT miller is sick |

Some tweets from the beat writers
Ryan Lindgren is skating with Urho Vaakanainen and Zac Jones is skating with Braden Schneider.
K’Andre Miller still taking reps with Will Borgen
#NYR forward lines look like this:
Panarin-Trocheck-Lafrenière
Kreider-Zibanejad-Cuylle
Othmann-Brodzinski-Rempe
Vesey-Carrick-Smith
Kaliyev skating with Robertson, there’s been some rotation in the bottom six too
With Adam Fox on IR, the Rangers are running a power play with five forwards: Zibanejad, Panarin, Kreider, Trocheck and Lafreniere. Remember, J.T. Miller (sick) isn’t practicing.
Smith, Brodzinski, Miller, Jones and Cuylle make up #NYR PP2 |

Part of Laf’s lack of progression is on the organization and coaching staff. What other #1 OA pick isn’t on their teams 1st PP unit 5 years after being drafted.
1 - his production would go up
2 - the production on the PP would translate into confidence 5 on 5 and I believe we’d see a jump there also.
Ridiculous the way they’ve developed their prospects. Kakko, Laf, Krav, Lias all of them. I’m not saying the players can’t be held accountable as well, but we’ve BUTCHERED 4 top 10 picks now. Unbelievable incompetence by the organization. |

i don't think laf's play, at all this season, has warranted him being on PP1.
agree w/ everything else though.

Just kakko and Laf. Kakko had his chances just not long enough leash.
Laf should have been put on PP1 last year. Krav and Lias were just bad draft picks.
