The Yotes took 2 from Detroit last year down the stretch. Spoilers!!!!!!! |

Very sad performance tonight! Larkin appeared to be the only one trying for most of the game. In the third period they all looked shocked and paralyzed.
I think they now know the season is truly over.
At least they saved Yzerman from making any trades that in the end would have just wasted capital. In the last three games the Wings proved once again they don’t deserve to make the playoffs.
Hopefully Stevie can dump a couple contracts, Tarasenko, Comphere, Mott, Holl, Lyon, Veleno, Gustafsson. Pretty much anyone not named Seider, Edvinsson, Raymond, Johansson, and DeBrincat along with any minor leaguers. Play the young kids and see what the future looks like because the recent past looks like crap. |

And for the extra kick in the balls- San Jose traded walman for what is reportedly a first round pick.
So we had to pay a second rounder to get rid of walman with two years left. And now Edmonton trades a first rounder for 1.33 years of Jake walman.
But apparently nobody wanted him this past offseason. Come on. Ridiculous. |

Yzerman didn't shop Walman he just wanted to get rid of the salary to get Trouba. The funny part will be when Yzerman trades Johansson, a prospect and a 2nd round pick for Trouba with no salary retention at the deadline. |

I don’t know they go for him again. He’s now told them twice he doesn’t want to be in Detroit. Once in nixing the deal from NYR, the second time opting for Anaheim. Just doesn’t seem to want anything to do with this team and you don’t want that in the room. They lost big and didn’t address an important situation |

I was just kidding. From Trouba's reaction when asked after the trade to the Ducks, it didn't look like he knew Detroit wanted to trade for him again or that they were an option. My guess is the Wings wanted salary retention or the Rangers to take back Holl or another bad contract so the Rangers GM never gave him the Detroit option. He likely told him it was the Ducks or waivers since they were likely the only team willing to take on his full cap hit and actually give them something for him. |

Rest up Jeremy... no need to apologize. Take care of yourself first and foremost. The rest of us will survive. |

Glad we don't end up with Cozens. Wings need a true proven 2nd line center not another overpaid 3C. |

I think it likely Yzerman picks up a D-man at a bargain price at 2:59. |

hopefully 2 or 3... maybe other teams will let us play with 3 D at a time to make up for the defensive blackhole |

On spring break so I haven't watched a lot of hockey this week, but I did see Seider get punched directly in the face after the whistle and just stood there and took it with his only response being seeing stars. They need to add some toughness, but they won't. |

Bkue, did you get to do Combatives? When it 1st came out, it was like watching Hell in the Cell, brother. Chiclets everywhere, blood donations abound....There comes a time when you just have bring hell to a situation; total target saturation. I think we're there..... |

The return of #34? Didn’t see that coming. Will Lyon be dealt? |

I think Talbot is the one being traded since Mrazek has another year on his deal. |

That complicates the Wings trade situation. The Griffins blogger is not ready for the show.
Yzerman got his hands full replacing you...even for a rental.
Wishing you well and hope you see this as levity in tough situation. |

Good point; a subsequent deal has to be coming, right? |

When I got in, they were still doing combatives, but by the time I left it was mostly BJJ. I actually thought combatives were more applicable than BJJ, but yeah, got the snot beat out of me quite a few times. My unit had a ton of wrestlers, and hockey player vs wrester is not a good matchup!
My take on that last night was McClellan and the team would have gladly given up their powerplay had Mo stood up for himself. Segachev averages less than a fight a year, and they are similar in size, so it's not like it was a mismatch. Sieder has one NHL fight in his career. He showed so much more fire in the A than he has with the big team, and that's really disappointing.
I'm going to add one more thing to this...when I went through my pipeline, there were a lot of guys who came from either a wrestling or MMA background. The guys who earned the most respect weren't those who won their fights, it was the guys who got knocked down and came back for more. Sieder could have earned a lot of respect from his teammates just by standing up for himself, whether he won or not. |
