Good lord seasons tickets for the Leafs are wildly expensive (granted this story is about golds but still).
I may have the opportunity to become a season ticket holder for a pair of corner greens. That only if the guy in front me me declines which is the current season ticket holders brother and he's crazy to since he owns his own business and can write some of it off.
This story made me really think "do i really want to do that"?
I'd have to sell A LOT of the tickets - probably to most of the best games to make it make sense financially.
For those here who have season tickets - how many games do you actually go to vs sell?

I've been a season ticket holder since the mid 1990s.
My model has always been this:
Remove the home opener.
Then the remaining 40 games are split between me and three other guys (brothers and friends). Snake draft. Draft day is my Christmas - oh Lord, it's fun. Usually done in early September. I charge exactly what I pay - I would never consider profiting off of a friend or relative. OK, maybe off of a relative...
You can pay for the tickets on installment, so it's not as onerous as you think.
And they make it easy to resell your tickets on Ticketmaster. You'll make a small profit on Thursday-Saturday games, break even or tiny hit on Monday-Wednesday games.

And how many games to I go to?
Less than I used to!
I'll go to about 4-7 this year, would be my guess. Kids eat up some, and occasionally I just can't go.

Been thinking of giving up my 67's season tickets. I only get out to like 20 games a year now. Father in law is slowing down and doesn't like driving at night if he can avoid it and he's one of the only people who ever wants to go Other buddy who loves hockey got bumped to the night shift and still is working two jobs to max his single life income. |

So basically you can maybe claw back a few bucks depending on which games you sell, and then you have a handful of games to go to at cost. That's a pretty good deal if you have some people to break it up with.

Thanks for the insight - splitting them up amongst others who want 10 games each give or take is a good strategy for sure and the draft to pick games sounds like fun.
I assume you take the home opener every year? I have been lucky enough to be at 5 or 6 and have always enjoyed them.
What do you do come playoffs? I can only imagine the potential issues if there was a game 7 final for the cup in Toronto.....I'd sell my soul to go to that game. lol

Not Leafs, but my ex had TFC seasons in the supporters' section. When they sucked poop. You couldn't give those tickets away. It was fun ticket if you were a heavy drinker. Every year you get a new pair of those sweet scarves. We had you covered for scarves. I probably still have enough to make a rope ladder from the 6th floor if I had too.
So if I was gonna be a Leafs' seasons holder I'd be excited about the new swag every year. Although for the price they should give you scarves, jerseys, toques, multiple ball caps (for hat tricks), socks and home and away pyjamas and bed sheets.

Although you should ask Wedgie to post his Leafs' fan stuff inventory, it may serve as a cautionary tale against going further down the Leafs hole. It's the list of a madman. |

MLSE would prefer to give you a swift kick to the Richard rather than swag. |

In fairness, they have to be able to afford Marner's next contract. |

But MLSE owns both the TFC and Leafs so.................
That being said when TFC wasn't great I'm sure the strategy was to give lots of swag to seasons ticket holders to keep them loyal. My sister actually had seasons first row between centre and the penalty area. Watching games from there was amazing as long as it was raining.
I was at the game (not in those seats though) when TFC won the MLS cup - it was super cool.

Then they better pay him because he’s the reason they win so many games. |

I am curious if he moves on after this season, playoffs performance from him but also the team will play a big role |
