BOKO!!! Fun fact about the Howe hat trick I recently learned. Howe had 2 in his career. Rick Tocchet had like 18 and Paul Coffey had 9.

I think Howe had 2 but not sure.

My older son has 2 youth versions this year, a goal, assist, and roughing penalty in a game. They don't drop the gloves in peewee since they're wearing the face cages and also they'd be automatically ejected and suspended, so instead they get into a cross-checking stick battle that devolves into a judo match.

Boko was number 1 star in that game btw.

Well, your son has more guts than Bryan Rust. Congratulations, keep up the good work.

Saw on Twitter how the Rangers have the right to give the Penguins their 1st even if it falls in the lottery. It is similar to the Karlsson trade.

I guess for the Rangers, it is guesswork. Obviously they just paid their goalie a huge contract and traded for JT Miller, so they are invested for this season and beyond. So I think it'd be crazy if they got pick 10-12 and didnt hold on to it. Id definitely hate the idea of my team surrendering an unprotected first considering how flawed the Rangers are as a roster building team and considering they are one injury to Igor away from being a mediocre team.

It'll be interesting to see what happens, but two lottery picks for the Penguins would go a long way to rebuilding the roster.

Well Rust is having himself a night. It would be great timing to get off the Schneid.

Big opportunity for Rust. He could get a Gordie Howe hat trick instead of settling for a 2 goal and 3 point night. Not doing enough to help the team win tonight.

Bruniicke to join wbs now that Kamloops is missing the playoffs. That will be nice experience for him. Hope he actually gets some time in game.

That will be interesting. They were rotating 2 defenseman out each game already this weekend. You'd like to think they'd make Brunicke a priority though. Pietila is already getting in games as a RHD, but he's ticketed for WBS next year.

He’s never done enough for his captain.

Crosby is projected to finish the season with 89 points and be at 1,685 points in his career.

That would mean he is 315 points from 2,000. Could Crosby keep playing at a high level for 4 more seasons? That is a huge ask of someone Crosby's age. But i think he could put at least 2 together to get to around 1,850-1,900.

It would be dependent on the Penguins ability to put a team around him. A lack of a solid powerplay has harmed his production this year despite being tied for #1 in 5 on 5 points.

It would also depend on Crosby's desire to break the record. Is he willing to put that work and dedication in to keep going? Not sure. It's a lot to ask of any player.

Only way he plays 4 more seasons is if they’re able to build a legit contender for him to chase another cup. If they’re still missing the playoffs at the end of his next contract, could easily see him hang them up.
