Thanks Trevor.
I’m not for a 10 year rebuild but would like a couple top 10 picks to hopefully draft some star power. Not every rebuild has to be Buffalo, Ottawa, Anaheim model. Connie has said all along he would like to see a Dallas type rebuild. Get some top picks, hit on some later round picks . Not a fan of the Honzek pick but time will tell. Looking like a very good draft last year, if they can draft like that again, somehow aquire a few top 10 picks, trade off some aging vets…..
I definitely wouldn’t sign Andersson, like the guy but he should be seen as a trade chip not a future piece. Flames have other vets to show the young guys the way. |

Just played the draft simulator, looks like we just have to win the lottery to keep our pick. |

I wonder what sort of sacrafice would be needed to appease the hockey gods to make this happen.
I will be real interested to see what happens this summer. I know Wolf was an unforeseen intangible, but Conroy needs to do something drastic to get that 1C that we have lacked since Nieuwendyk was traded in 1995. We are rolling on 30 years without a dominant 1C.
That is a lot of pain. Time to rip off the bandaid. |

We’ve had some tweeners like Monahan and Lindholm but we really miss a true #1 for sure. |

Just MHO of course, I am old enough for the start of the blue paint, and I would be fine with ALL goals with players in blue paint taken away. Yes of course its not how the league wants it nor anyone else and I get that but really that would change a lot of goals that are say unsure and questionable for interference. There would be none if an opposing player touches it makes things easier. |

This was all tried in the 98-99 season and Bettman and his cronies allowed Brett Hull to score the cup winning goal in game 7 with his foot in the crease/blue paint. Was called pretty much all season up until that point. |
