ill bet OTT has the lowest shot attempt while on the PP in the league....

they don't even attempt, at all, the 1 timer from the circle play. no wonder their PP keeps dropping

So, Florida is coming down the stretch without their top 2 forwards and their best Dman. Sens 2 points back and maybe, just maybe, will move past the Panthers.

If the Sens take the 3rd seed they will play Tampa (I would rather play the Leafs).

The Panthers could face off against the Leafs with all their injured/suspended having returned. Worst possible first round match up for Leafs.

Curious if Florida will be a team that "flips a switch" and turns it on come playoffs. Having guys come back as you mentioned couldn't hurt either.

Ottawa matches up well with Toronto but it would be nice to own the home building for the first playoffs in so long. I have a feeling they move into 2nd though and play tampa

Florida is losing on purpose so they can play the Leafs. Smart strategy.

Edit - hahah omg, I was just being silly, but then Sportsnet put out this article. https://www.sportsnet.ca/...-playoffs-not-really-but/

there was a segment on TSN were the analyst were saying OTT is currently playing at their maximum and they don't have another gear so to speak, i agree with them.

Yeah Ottawa is terrible. They’ll get swept in the playoffs and then go 0-82 next year. Then give up the 1st round pick and never win again.

OTT could not clinch themselves, they needed another team to do it for them.

Habs within 3 points of OTT, after Friday they will be 1 point from OTT, good chance we see MTL vs TOR and OTT VS WSH

Updated Standings (MTL beat DET in regulation just now)

1. TOR - 98 points (5 games left)
2. TBL - 96 points (5 games)
3. FLA - 94 points (4 games)
-----------------------------------------
W1. OTT - 90 points (5 games)
W2. MTL - 87 points (5 games)
-----------------------------------------
Doesn't matter now

We know that MTL and OTT will play the top of the divisions now. It is a matter of Toronto or a Florida team winning the division and playing Ottawa - or there's a small chance that MTL even gets ahead of Ottawa. I doubt that will happen but they just won 6 games in a row for the first time in 8 years

after Friday MTL will be 1 point back of OTT so good chance they can pass OTT if they keep winning. Both MTL and OTTs last game of the season is VS CAR. i think who ever wins their game with CAR will be in WC1 and the other in WC2

(frank)ing right! Sens clinch. Lets get some positivity in here.

Lets hope this is finally real step forward for this team, whatever happens. But for now, lets just enjoy the ride.

Ottawa qualified for the playoffs by getting 90 points in 78 games, better than 8 other teams in the division. How they clinch is moot.
