MLSE can't afford to do that if they want to build a roster to take a serious run at the cup IMO. They already gave him more due to him being slighted by Uncle Lou.

If I was Marner, I'd be incredibly pissed off.

And you can say that he sparked this by not signing a new contract before the trade deadline, and that may be true, but it doesn't change Marner's emotions.

With absolutely nothing to base this on, I imagine that Marner is hurt by Treliving asking him to waive.

And he also gave a weird interview last week where he basically said that he gets a lot of negativity thrown his way - unfairly. He's not wrong on that, either.

He's currently 5th in the league in scoring.

In the past 3 years, he's 12th in points per game, 12th in points.

Its a business, marner knew he could be asked.
Either way, it wasnt Torontos first choice to move him for rant. But they had to ask.
Is he upset still? Meh who knows, but its part of the game...Tre had to explore all options. Specially if Rant was available
