1. My first hockey game and memory was in 1974 when the Flyers won the Stanley Cup at the Spectrum, I was 4 years old, my Dad made me go with him saying it was going to be a lifetime memory. I appreciate 1-0 games ever since

2. My worst hockey memory was when Pelle Lindbergh died.

3. My all time favorite player is John LeClair

4. I learned to skate before I learned to ride a bike

5. I was forced to play goalie until age 8 when I switched to defense which was much cheaper

6. I own 33 various hockey jersey’s from NHL, AHL, ECHL, NCAA, and Olympic teams

7. I read about, post or discuss hockey every single day of my life

8. I have seen NHL games in person at 14 different arena’s including every current Canadian NHL city except Vancouver

9. My wife knew nothing about hockey when we met, now she thinks she is an avid fan and tells her friends I trained her well

10. My skates are a size 12

11. I played competitive hockey in college, a #6 defenseman on a club sport team

12. I sat 2 rows away from Ed Snider at a Phillies game in 2004 at the inaugural season of Citizens Bank Park

13. I DVR every Flyers game and usually re-watch the games I see in person when I get home

I'm sticking with my early season Washington VS Detroit.

1. The best game I saw live was Game 7 of the 1987 SCF, Glen Anderson to seal the deal.

2. I went to the 1988 All Star game in Edmonton.

3. I saw the Oilers win the Cup live in Edmonton in 1988 as well.

4. I have a signed copy of Wayne Gretzky's autobiography.

5. As a youth I once participated in the intermission minor hockey skills competition at Northlands.

6. The Oilers were playing the Kings that night and the only Kings player that acknowledged us was Kelly Hrudy (an Edmonton boy).

7. I hate Kelly Hrudy.

8. The best game I have seen on tv was any number of the amazing wins in the 2006 cup run.

9. I saw Gretzky play live over 100 times.

10. I will not touch the cup until I win one.

11. I was at a work conference in Ontario in 2002 and Manny Legace was having a private party for his day with the cup.

12. We were looking in the conference room he was in, went in chatted with a few people and he let a few friends drink from the cup.

13. I never really liked Legace until he cost the Wings the first round series against the Oilers in 2006.

14. I played baseball against more NHLers (Iginla included) than I played hockey against.

15. No matter how many points Ryan Smyth gets he isn't worth what the Avs are paying him.

16. I sat through many depressing nights in the early 2000s as the Oilers drew just over 10,000.

17. Nothing beats a playoff game live in Edmonton.

18. My day was made today when I learned that Pocklinton is likely going to jail.

19. I was on a family holiday in 1988 in Oregon when Gretzky got traded, my Dad told me the news and I laughed because I didn't believe him, I was 10.

20. I remember going to many games when I was young, going home thinking Gretzky had an off night because he didn't do much, looking at the box score the next morning and finding out he had 5 or 6 points.

7- My sister has a photo of her and RICK WAMSLEY that appeared in the GAZETTE for after a blood clinic held at the old forum.

1 - my first time playing ice hockey I was 12, and the 10 year olds skated circles around me

2 - I could not stop in the first 6 games - so I'd run down anybody in my way - unfortunately that included refs and my own team.

3 - My family was at every game i played over 2 years, but missed the one game I scored a goal in!

4 - My neighbour, who was mentally retarded, was the best goalie I have ever seen.

5 - I was my dad's team (habs) fan until the day that I saw Darryl Sittler set a record with 10 points in a game. Now i am STILL a Leaf Fan - much to my heartache

6- My friend and I, in altered states, had the BEST Canada - Russia series in History - crowds of people watched our Bubble Hockey games - or so we thought at least

7 - When playing ball hockey - I do NOT step on other people's sticks

8 - A mighty Arab broke my ribs with a clean check in ball hockey

9 - I almost lost my b*lls to a slapshot

10 - I do not blame Mats Sundin for screwing the Leafs in 2008

11 - I wonder who will be able to lift the leafs to a cup: whoever it is better watch for hernias!

12 - I believe that the Ballard curse will come to an end in 2012 - just in time for the apocalypse

13 - I met Brian Kilray

14 - My dad took me Ottawa 67's games every year

15 - I saw my first NHL game at 26 years old - Ottawa and Washington - when they both sucked: it was a great game!

16 - I lived in Toronto for 5 years, and never went to the MLG

17 - I am a secret Blackhawks fan

18 - Toronto has the Meanest, nastiest and most depressing fans I've ever seen

19 - If Montreal and Vancouver met in the finals, their buildings would explode from the fan noise (best fans I've ever seen live!)

20 - I want to go back to the top 16 teams make the playoffs, period

How is Tampa Bay this bad... 4 points above the "lowly" Islanders with players like Vinny, Marty, Malone, Stamkos. I understand their D is suspect and their goalie is weak, but c'mon no way they should be this bad and make Islander fans sweat out coming in last place.

I was there in the riot of 1993...the first hour was amazing...euphoria...then
all hell broke loose...one of the moments i really got scared, it was dangerous everywhere...what a night...

Thats what happens when you go from winning lots of cups to 1 every few years.

I expect I'll be able to see the flames coming from Toronto from across the lake when they finally win one.
